And yea ive worked some graves, they fuckin suck. I honestly think they take years off your life. Try not to do them for too long.

Im a detention officer in my county's jail. We're hiring 70 more people so hopefully i can get on days soon.

i live in iowa. . . the pay is the same as cops. . . no we're just civilians. i think it's funny how people on here are saying, "well find a new job." or "moving would be a good start." If only it were that easy.

that sux your not peace officers, but u have a dangerous ass job...........But like u said the pay is good, and its hard to leave something like that when your getting paid so well. Good career though

But always working weekends and holidays can wear u down fast.

Get off the graveyard shift as fast as you can...Esp/if your the type that has depression in your family...Humans are not nocturnal creatures...We are like plants who need sunlight to stay healthy...Those who say that they sleep a few hours and then have the rest of the day to do whatever are probably borderline batshit crazy and they don't even know it...
