O.k bast,

I order king salmon which is $29.95 a pound
and I eat alot of Tuna Sashimi.
You can't eat that if fish is frozen.
King salmon is less fatty than coho farmed salmon.

I agree, I could cut down food costs by eating more blandly.
I choose not too.

6 pounds of fish with shipping costs me $200.00

I easily could do this 2x a week but only order once a week.

I have a wife, and 2 dogs, which my dogs eat better than many
children.  I bake a turkey a week, and feed them turkey, rice and
mixed vegetables.

Again fellas, its not the quantity, its the quality I choose.

You should just give the dogs the turkey and vegetables raw, they'll never be healthier.

I usually spend about $150-160 a week on food.  I think $500 is a lot for a week.

If you don't eat a lot starches and grains, then it can get expensive. The cheap stuff is usually the stodge you can fill up on.

If you only buy top of the range organic produce then it can quite easily creep up there , even for one person. I wouldn't know how much I spend on a weekly basis but I do ,unfortunately, have expensive tastes. I eat a lot of sushi too, which is hard to make yourself and comes at a premium.

If I didn't fill up on brown rice (white if it's sushi, obviously) I would be haemorrhaging money. Brown rice and sweet potatoes are what makes my shopping bills just about acceptable.

thats nice and all you are wealthy we get it. thats the point of this thread anyway right, to show off  ::)

you prolly look like garbage anyway :D

Nah you got me all wrong.  Everyone that has read my posts over the last 3 years
should know I'm really not like that.

I bust my ass telemarketing to be able to eat like this.  And believe me, I wish I
had a savings account.  Thats actually why I posted this, to get some input.
I probably could eat off of $80.00 if I had too, but I don't think I'd be happy though.
Not at first anyway.

I don't like chemicals and bacteria in my food,
and I'll pay extra to ensure that for my wife and I.
Especially with Raw Tuna.
Most are all show no go!

my company has a very large kitchen with all kind of food, it's very healt orientated.
they have a very large Salad bar and I get me 3 small plates of Salad with very few salad nudels mostly green Salad sprinkled with some balsamico.

Beside that the Cook has taken a liking for me and has Turkey ready cooked for me evey time ;) so I take 3 of them.

Total: Aprox 14 Euros

So montly: 280 Euros

People look at you funny but by now they all now it's part of the training, good thing is I don't need to cook before hand.

I spend that on food a week.
I don't even eat that much.
Mostly fish I import from seattle
finest cuts of meat and chicken.
Organic Vegetables and fruits, berries.
I go out to dinner only 1x a week.
2x at the most.

How much ya'll spend?
When I was 18 (20yrs ago)
I would eat off of about $40.00
a week.  $60.00 at most.

You spend $26K per year on food?

Bullshit. ::)

.......actually it's quantity.  It's the quantity of people eating under your roof.  You spend $500 on food per week, with no explanation of how many people you have to feed at home.  So, $500 per week is in general terms to feed: yourself, a wife, children (4-6 children), inlaws (if they live in the same house), and two dogs.  Now, I can see why you could spend $500 on food per week.

of course not, he's "chainsaw", no normal store bought 9 dollar a pound salmon will do for his mind boggling physique, he needs the best, nevermind that Mr. Olympia himself eats frozen orange roughy in the bag from Costco, he needs the ABSOLUTE BEST. ;D

The trick is to use more than one protein/carb sources. Buy 2-3 bags of chicken or fish at costco for maybe $70 and have 1-2 pieces a day. Maybe albacore tuna can 1/per day at 50cent a can = $15 month. Quaker Oatmeal wholesale box is like $8 and will last a 1-2 months. Brown rice or sweet potatoes is really cheap too. Costco EAS whey 4lbs is $30 and at 1/2 scoops a day will last a month. Bags of frozen veggies will cost about $20/month. Boom a bit under $200/ month.
