I was reading the book Muscles again yesterday for the god knows how many times.
I usually just grab the book and open it at some point and read away.

I stumbled upon something that I thought would be cool to discuss.

Remember the time Jay Culler was tested for drugs (i think it was the Arnold Classic) and he tested positive and was disqualified or the win taken from him.
Shortly after that he threatend Weider's with his lawyer, who has found a loophole.
The charges were dropped and he won that year.

i found a couple of things very interesting about that:

1) He actually threatend the Weider's with his lawyer and still became what he is now.
2) It is also quoted in the book by Wayne Demilia that he sat down with him in Rome and they made up so to speak.

So what was he actually caught with?

they were tested only for diuretics. Ronnie and most of the bigger guys were holding water that year. jay was dry.

selection...it was biased, which is the whole point to "drug tests" in most sports.  The problem was, if Jay had gone through with the lawsuit...the IFBB would've been exposed for not DQing all of them for having any of the substances they were on

Too bad Shawn didn't do the same thing when he "tested positive" for steroids at the AC.....       A pro bodybuilder using steroids, wow, go figure

Mr Olympia in 2001. Jays "break out" show. Since then he been nearly unbeatable by people NOT named Coleman.

I guess The IFBB was supposed to hold test in IOC certified lab. But they didnt. They did testing in lab that didnt have IOC recognition.

Jays lawyers exposed this error and the IFBB caved. The IFBB gave Jay his 2nd place finish and contest money back to him.
