That's Shay Laren with brown hair. I have no idea how old the gif is but I reckon she's around 18 in it because it's been around on the internet for at least a few years. I had no idea who it was for a long time until I accidentally stumbled across it.

Personally, I think she's hotter as a brunette but that's probably because I'm a brunette guy. I love this avatar, though.

But in describing myself as an academic I would ascribe to myself the bookish criterion and a background heavily steeped in the Classics; Latin, Greek, Sturm und Drang, etc...
