I'm not sure where or how you got the idea that that story showed Israel in a favourable light.
It barely mentions Israel other than to suggest Israel is engaging in direct intimidation and terrorism against Lebanese civilians. Israel's willingness to trade 5 live criminals who vow to go on fighting them, ...along with 199 tractor trailers of dead fighters for the bodies of 2 dead soldiers highlights the kind of arrogance & bigotry that causes israel to repeatedly make bad deals with it's enemies. How does an article that depicts them as having made a bad deal, or one that suggests they regularly participate in the terrorism & intimidation of civilian populations in sovereign states cast them in a favourable light?
I am honestly feeling queasy after reading this
It showed Israel in a favourable light because their actions displayed their value for human life and dignity (the Israeli soldiers were dead).
Somehow you've managed to change to positive into the negative by perversely suggesting the prisoner trade was to bolster Israel's "attack" and "terrorism" on Lebanese civilians.
You know nothing about Hezbollah obviously and their tactics of using humans as shields and fighting from civilian neighbourhoods. Israel unfortunately has no choice to attack Hezbollah from their positions, if Hezbollah chose to fight from neighbourhoods where their OWN PEOPLE live their lives, then what option does Israel have? Not to fight and provide an retaliation for the slaughter of it's citizens?
You're perversely pointing this trade as a tactic for Israel to bolster it's attack. But let's look at the FACTS - the Lebanese government rejoiced and the trade, literally giving the read carpet treatment to convicted terrorists, one being a man who intentionally crushed the head of a 4 year old girl.
Now, Israel, undoubtedly has cause the death of Lebanese children, this is something I'm not happy about, but considering the FACT, the gorilla tactics that Hezbollah use, which basically translates to nominating each of it's own citizens as cannon fodder...
I'd like to know where Israel specifically targets children and civilians.
