Very nice seeing Danny Hester at Gold's Gym. Danny, in placing 2nd at the NPC Los Angeles in his class (Welterweight) will be going to the NPC USAs.    Danny has been in a number of NPC competitions, including competing in the NPC USAs in 1992, placing 3rd as a Lightweight then. It was nice catching up with Danny! |

Back in 1993 Danny was looking like a milion bucks, just incredible middleweight.
He certainly has the potential to win his weight class at nationals. In fact based on the pics posted here I am surprised he took 2nd at the LA Open.
His chest is pretty think for a small guy.

Yea, Danny's been around for a good number of years and that alone could be his downfall. I'd sure like to see him do well though. Was it really that far back that he made that good showing in the USA?

EAS got smart catered to the regular joes found the market in the regular joes to be in the billions vs us hard core lifters only in the millions. Even changed their EAS name so that the hard core lifters dont buy into their supplements. Smart move actually, but ignored where they came from.

They had Hester on a $100K per year contract for one year (1993/94??). Hester was "bummed" when they did not renew it for a second (or third and fourth) year. Called Bill Phillips all sorts of bad names (as did Titus who said he was going to kick Phillips ass!). Fuck, I wish someone was paying me $100K per year just to train. I saw Hester in 1994 and he was one of the best 185# BBers I have seen-perfect shape. |

we talked about him competing again a couple of months ago in Golds. He was doing a photo shoot and looked ready then. he wasn't sure then.
