Ultrasound results
« on: July 22, 2008, 09:51:28 AM »
Hey guys, has anyone ever done a full abdomen ultrasound before?  I got one the other day and now the doc wants to see me, they said it wasn't anything urgent on the phone but I am still worried.  Anyone have any info?  thanks

I had one done a few years ago when I was having liver issues.  Turns out I had some fat deposits in my liver, or Fatty Liver Disease.  My liver wasn't inflamed or anything so there wasn't a need to do a biopsy.  I found this out because I had elevated levels when I was off cycle.  My diet has always been pretty good,  but apparently this is something that many people in America are getting diagnosed in the past several years.  Something like 400,000 Americans have it now I believe.

Let us know what happens with the results.

I had one a couple years ago because my liver enzymes were a little high. Discovered I had some small fat deposits in my liver & gall stones. I wouldn't sweat it if they said it was no big deal. Either way please keep us updated.

I talked to a gastro specialist to discuss the results & he said it sometimes happens if you're a "big" guy & I don't just mean fat. He also eased my mind about the liver values by saying they were high but nothing to be concerned about. I was about 255-260lbs (15% bf) when I had mine done.

Yea, my gastro specialist said the same thing, nothing to really worry about.  My levels weren't extremely high either, but my doctor knowing my diet and that I don't drink wanted to get it checked out.

Why would this happen if your a big guy?  Just because of food and size. Because right now I am around 260 pounds and 8%.
