sat and unsat are all good fats you just have to watch the levels in your blood. HDL and LDL are both good you just have to watch the levels.
HDL is quite good and the more the better within reason. LDL causes plaque formation and oxidizes because cells will only take up cholesterol requirements, so more lipo protein with no peripheral cholesterol uptake equals bad news. HDL participates in cetripedal transport, taking up excess cholesterol and bringing it back to the liver for destruction. Cells can up or down regulate hormone sensitive lipase, hence the reason ldl is bad in excess, some is needed for transport however.
