Fedor vs Arlovski Oct.11
« on: July 24, 2008, 06:05:06 AM »
Came across this article on yahoo.. Fedor and Arlovski are fighting in Las Vegas in October. It's not official yet though an announcement should be made Tuesday. If this materializes it would be huge for Affliction and hopefully show that they're sticking around for a while. It would also make for a hell of a fight.

I'm sure Dana and company will try and counter this match-up. This time I am definitely buying the Affliction card.

there's not a whole lotta excitiment in ANY hw division.

there's only three things to do about it

1. fedor needs to retire
2. new blood will have to come in
3. all hw's will need to fight in the same organization

Chinny Arlovski gonna get that ass kicked.

After Fedor is done with him I'd like to see him finally fight Barnett.

Seeing a werewolf getting hit the way Tim did would be cool to see.

I've seen Andre get knocked out by a rolling front kick early in his career.  It was terribly funny.

I hope Fedor actually takes home some money for beating Andre.

Anyone willing to bet Fedor won't win this fight?  I take Pay-Pal.

Lets see, Arlovski lost to Tim Syliva twice! So, I wonder how the Fedor fight will go.

Arlovski's got decent hands and should be able to show Fedor some movement so I expect he'll do a hell of a lot better than Sylvia did,but then again I still think Fedors getting better and better each time out....

there's nothing more "one dimensional" than a guy that relies on his size to win him fights and Andre won't do that.

I think Arlovski is not focusing on his ground game to the same level as his striking. It would be interesting to see what gameplan Fedor will employ. I'd prefer to to see barnett Vs fedor but this is just as good.

Absolutely agree with this. Andre will definitely keep this fight standing up to take advantage of his quicker foot speed and lateral movement. If it goes to the ground, Fedor will pick him apart.

Not a chance in the world this fight stays on the ground.  None.  Zero.

Fedor will get within Andre's reach and throw him to the ground.

Andre is also the guy that got KO'd by tim.

Interesting fact is that Arlovski has never been tapped out.  All his losses are by KO, TKO and decision.

That being said, Fedor will probably be the first to sub him.

I'm confused...

on one hand you say there's no chance of it staying on the ground and on the other you say Fedor gets the sub...

My bad, I was drunk and typing.  No way the fight stays standing up. First or second round sub is my bet.

Did you see Fedor fight 7 foot Choi?  He worked amazing gaurd despite being layed on by a guy that outweighs him by a hundred pounds, and slapped on a hanging armbar, twice.

Thats like BJ getting an armbar on Lesnar while being layed on...

Arlovski was out Jiu Jitsu'ed by Ricco Roddriguez, who took him to the ground, out positioned him, mounted him then gnp'ed him till he got the tko.  Andre looks like he got his confidence back, after Tim tagged him it looked like he lost some of his aggression and he fought his last few fights pretty cautiously.  Arlo still can't take a punch though, I think Fedor will check his chin, then sub him, in other words, the usual.

I want to see Barnett and Fedor just so I can hear Bolt Thrower again at an MMA event.  In Battle There is No Law!

Fedor will catch Andrei, put him on the mat, then GNP him for the TKO.

I think Arlovski is getting taken out in the second round by submission.

What the hell?  Can't we get an official number one contender match with Andre and Josh??

That would be good but that would increase the chance of Josh never making it to fedor. Whenever Barnett gets within a stones throw of Fedor something always derails him
