... and the only meat there was at least 50 years old and 30+ lbs overweight. Totally ruined the long-standing legend for us.

I'd say there's some correlation between nudism and wife swapping. What you saw there is probably representative of how well swingers look after themselves.

Add to that the fact that most swingers don't have a loving relationship with their spouse and are actually quite sad and pitiable people in lonely relationships, and the whole scene loses it's horny-appeal pretty quick.
