I only drink expensive wine
“A fool and his money are soon parted.”
They have conducted numerous taste tests verifying this:
If you tell someone a wine is, say, $150+ a bottle (expensive) they will say it tastes much better than the $10-20 bottle that you’ve given them for comparison… but if you conduct a blind test (don't show them the price of either bottle) and ask them to choose they can never tell the difference or otherwise choose the expensive wine. Even the biggest wine aficionados have been consistently fooled by this test. I have conducted this same test on some friends of mine and they also fail it. The lesson is clear: set your ego aside and drink what tastes good
to you—even if it is two buck Chuck.
Unless you taste wine for a living (there are people who do this, just as there are people who taste ice cream or pet food for a living)
you can’t tell the difference between a $20 bottle or a $200 bottle. If you think you can, you are fooling yourself. See quote above.
