Tampa Pro: Bob Weatherill doing the show in Tampa
« on: August 05, 2008, 02:37:30 PM »
My buddy, Bob Weatherill, is doing the pro show this coming weekend in Tampa, and he's looking fantastic. Believe me, if politics are kept somewhat a bay, the guy could land himself in a primo spot.

He'll be bringing one trim and refined package to Florida.

Who?

He's a former Canadian champion who has been sporadic in his stage appearances over the years. He's about 5'9 and will hit Tampa at about 230 pounds. I wish him well. He's a very hard trainer.

He last competed a few years ago and his weight was about 240 (and he still placed well). He thoroughly admits he was playing the size game and has decided to go back to the look that won him accolades.

He's in his early 40s and has been training intensely and consistently for almost 30 years. Here's a guy who squats heavy to the floor and generally defines oldschool in his approach, and his physique shows it.

He showed me his condition last week at the gym and, boy, does he look great. The IFBB would do well to seriously consider what he presents.

I can't seem to find old pictures of him online, though.

He's heavier in that picture. Not as tight and refined as he is when he's not going for sheer size. I think there will be a few impressed folks this coming weekend.

spot on mike---------the gut is getting that distended bloated quality and its a bad sign when its noticable in a pose like that, in which its easy to hide your gut-----it will be very apparent in his side and ab poses :-\

Way off base, Nordic Beast. Bob does NOT have a distended belly in the way in which you're referring. But your opinion is your opinion, I suppose.

However, if you saw Weatherill's physique up close and in person, you'd see just how wasp-waisted the man is.

They're friends, yes, and were training partners for a short time about a decade ago. However, the two mens' training styles were too different. Greg was extremely slow and hooked to Smith machine movements, and Bob moves through his routine much faster, more athletically and uses core exercises (squats, presses, rows, etc.) as the bulk of his program.

He used to look a lot better than that. He was impressive when he first became a pro. What happened to him?

don't Greg's friends have the heart to tell him that he looks like complete garbage? I mean he has to be the worst pro of all-time. His friends were doing him a disservice by not strongly recommending to him that he retire long before he actually did

Greg was being fed crap by select individuals and if anyone else made an attempt to offer suggestions, a deaf ear would turn.

Bob was / is a good friend, period. Known the man for almost 20 years.

he has a case of what I would like to call "dexter Jackson ninja turtle-ittis"-----his abs are pushing out from the front in a turtle shell type shape-----take a look at the BBers from the 70's and you will see nothing like that existing---its a case of insulin and GH causing this deformity
