Anybody got any details?

Can the Jets trade him?

Jets got good, fast te, Alan Faneca as left guard, D'brickshaw, Ferguson in O-line.

Favre can avoid some of the pressure and throw deep - Both new to jets so at least the field is stretched a bit.

they can trade him, but if they trade him to the vikings, they owe the pack THREE 1st round picks.

GB doesn't want to face a very motivated Favre in the playoffs this year.

Dude your joking right? Its reported throughout the media that Favre was indeed offered 20 Million to stay the hell away from football.  If it was really about money, he would have taken the money.
It wasn't just to "stay away"  It was a marketing deal.  The Bills did the same thing for Jim kelly.

yes, all too true. Wonder if some will have it out for his knees after his apparent disloyalty (Rob, no Kyomu?)

It wasn't all together on Favre.  Ted Thompson had a LOT to do with Brett retiring in the first place.  The guy is an absolute control freak and wants the Packers to be HIS team.  He is gradually flushing out all players from the Ron Wolf era.  He didn't want Brett back.  Give Rodgers till week eight before he gets hurt.  Then Ted will have a target on him.  As far as the story all together, i'm glad it's over.  TV breaks in to special "beaking news" coverage here for the past few months with any rumors on this whole ordeal.

HAHAHAHAHA.  The jets will need to go 11-5 just for a wildcard.  That turnaround will not happen.

1. The San Diego Chargers
2. The Patriots
3. The Colts
4. The Browns
5. The Jags
6. The Bills
7. Titans
8. Pittsburgh

The Jets are on the outside looking in.

Holy shit.  Biggest news story in the NFL this year.  Interesting.

Chad Pennington = backup now?

Pennington with his 6 million salary is as good as gone. He will be released in training camp. Bank on it. Kellen Clemens will be the backup. Younger and has a stronger arm.

Favre will play for at least 2 seasons.

Please, Favre has been back and forth for years now and told them just months ago that he wouldn't come back now this. They quite understandibly got tired of it. In the meantime, Favre has done nothing but roil the team until now this season, the players are relieved to have it done with.

This is true, a lot of the players were growing tired of it.  However...Thompson pushed it and it's too bad because Brett gave the offense a better chance to win than what Rodgers will.  Thompson wants to groom his QB  It will be funny to see a rookie as the starting QB if Rodgers goes down (which many here are banking on by week 8).

no, but they're certainly good enough to get a wildcard into the playoffs.  Then, on a cold day in NE in the playoffs, it can go anyone's way.  Remember when peyton beat them in the playoffs 2 years back?  If a dome softie like that can do it, Farve can do it.

it's hard to bet against Favre in January.  He should have been in the SB last year.

The jets where a 4 - 12 team last year. Pennington is just as effective as Farve short to medium range. All farve does is give them the long ball. They wont beat NE in the playoffs. NE is still on a different level (as a core) than the jets. The jets brought some guys in, but they are not pro bowl type of players, and there defense is still young.

The Jets will be better, but they wont have enough to overcome their schedule, and the Patriots. Even if Farve is good for 5 extra wins, they would still be a 9 - 7 team. They will contend fore real next year.

Farve is definitely an upgrade over what the Jets had but the getting to the playoffs is gonna be a beast for them.

What it does do is give the Jets some star power.they are at the bottom when it comes too the NY sports scene.
Yanks,Giants,Mets get way more attention.

If greenbay listened to farve at the beginning last year or end 2 years ago they would have spent the $$$ for offensive "weapons" ie r. moss like farve wanted and the pack would have been in the superbowl last year.   Jets will prob. be spending much $$$ to buy the players "weapons" they & farve want/need to be a playoff team....  It may or may not be this year but def. next 1 or 2 years jets will have an all star line up.... brett wants 1 more sb run.... he would have retired if gb went last year.... it was so close he had to come back.  Again, he'll hang with the jets for another 2 maybe, maybe 3 then he's out.
Part of the deal the jets had to make with farve was that they would make it be a playoff run year instead of a rebuilding year.  Jets are a contender now because of not just farve but everything that farve brings.... again the demand for top playmakers to help him win football games.
Someone made a post that the jets stretched the field now where as they had shorter field with chad.... either way the turnover/interception ratio remains the same..... so you take the good with the bad.
Don't forget the man never missed a qb start in his career.  And 45 is the new 35 so..... we will see.

Epic Farve ball-worship. He was never the best QB of any generation, and lost the chance for the SB with another dopey play.

but I never said he was the best qb of any generation.  The facts around his leaving gb were what was stated.  No "ball worship" get real.... he did not miss a qb start in his career.... just a fact....  re-read and you will see there is no "epic" whatever..... come on pump... your better than that.
yeah they were almost at the sb but I think and evidently so does farve, that the greenbay packers would have had a better chance at the superbowl with randy moss or another playmaking wide out like him.

Favre is the all-time passing leader in many categories, was/is the most durable player, and was simply disappointed that the Packers continually got shitty draft picks and free agents.  It's pretty sad when people bash one of the best QBs of all time.  The man has nothing left to prove, he just wants to play.

Apparently Brett Favre is overrated like Tiger Woods.

I have the jets going 5-11

Week---

1- At Dolphins (L) chad will probably be QBing for the Dolphins and will want payback...This will be a very sloppy game and many false starts...And the Dolphins will end up barely winning this low scoring horror show...

2-Home against New England (L) Favre's gunslinging ways will hurt him in this game...NE's system will be way to much for him 3 INT's for Favre and Brady goes over 300 yards along with 3 TD's for Moss-5 Total

3-At San Diego(L)Although Favre is usually great on Monday night, this night is not one of them... San Diego will be way to much for him...Merryman gets 3 sacks and Favre throws 4 INT's

4-Home against Arizona(W)Brett gets his first win but the New York press is relentless over his 0 and 3 start

5-Bye Week---This is a much needed bye week for the gunslinger to regroup and work on understanding the system...However this closet egomanic is going to have some sleepless nights after viewing the relentless NY press...He starts to look like the president of the united states near the end of his 2nd term

6-Home against Cincinnati (L) turns into the Chad Johnson show and the jets get killed at home...Favre is now really wishing he took the 25 million dollar buy out to stay off the field...2 more INT's and he rips his wranglers on his locker will leaving the stadium

7-At Oakland (W) the gunslinger eeks out a win in oakland but it was an ugly win...And nothing that the team can be proud of...Only 1 INT for Favre in this one but he throws for under 150 yards with only 1 touchdown

8-Home against Kansas City(L) turns out to be one of Favre's best because he ends up handing the ball off all day and doesn't throw and interception...But the Jets still lose the game...Kanas City gets a decent hard fought win with this one...Now at 2-5, the fans really turn against Favre and Chants of bring back Chad happen all day long

9-At Buffalo(L) turns out to be a close game but Favre throws 5 interceptions in the snow and the Jets end up losing this one in the 4th quarter...At 2-6, Favre is talking to his wife about faking and injury moving out of the country...

10-Home against St. Louis(W)gives Favre and his Jets get the best game of the year for them...Favre is seen celebrating way to much with his wide recievers after having a very good game...But at 3-7, Favre shouldn't be celebrating about anything

11-At New England(L)Favre does the right thing the whole week leading up to this game and he kisses the ass of Tom Brady and Randy Moss...By the middle of the 4th quarter the pats are playing most of there 2nd string and let Favre off the hook...Favre ends up making it a 2 touchdown win for the pats but this one was basically over by the middle of the 3rd quarter

12-At Tennessee(W)gives Favre his best game of the year with over 300 yards passing and only 1 interception...Alittle bit of Brady and Moss's mojo rubbed off on him and he carried it over the following week

13-Home against Denver(L) is yet another loss for the aging gunman...Jay Cutler ends up having the best game of his NFL career and throws for 350 yards...Favre tries to keep pace but throws 2 really bad interceptions that are returned for TD's and then another for good measure in a Denver Blow out...

14-At San Fran(L) is a surprising loss against a bad San Fran team...This loss here seals Favre's fate and he and his wife know for sure that they will be retiring...

15-Home against Buffalo(L)is a really bad game for the gunslinger who throws 5 INT's in this one...Buffalo just hammers him all day...Jets fans end up leaving the stadium halfway thru the 3rd quarter...

16-At Seattle(L)Favre got hardly any sleep all week and Manidiot pulls him after the 1st quarter...Favre claims to have hurt his shoulder but everyone watching the game knows he is sandbagging it...Seattle gets a close win in this one...

17-Home against Miami(W)Favre is claiming that his shoulder is pretty banged up but still starts the game...He ends up throwing for 4 touchdowns as the Jets blow out miami...And the retarded broadcasters won't shut the fck up about how good Favre is playing...Its almost like the fix is in for this guy to have have one last good game...

So 5-11 is the Jets final record...Favre has one of his worst season's yet but the Jets still win one more game then last year...But the Favre fiasco was looked at as a big bust...The Jets sucked and Green Bay only ended up winning 6 games...

How can it be his 0-3 if he only played two games before. And won his third one?
Is this some higher NFL schematics?
