Let's discuss the Lesnar fight shall we?
« on: August 07, 2008, 12:34:25 PM »
So fella's and mental midget... Who do you think will be securing the win and why..

I see Brock ending it in the first by Vicious GNP. I think it will be twice as bad as the MIR fight, the man is very quick and strong on the ground. I just keep replaying him when he switched positions on mir and how fast it was. I don't think old Heath will be doing much, but eating leather.

Brah, Lesnar is taking Heath out in the first round.

Why?

Brock has had plenty of time to deal with the stigma of that loss. He made a severe mistake in regards to Mir's BJJ. His will to win can be justified with his sheer strength. He was beating the shit out of Mir, and I am sure he will use that same strength. Only this time, he will have more force in his power. The force to win, and be recognized as a warrior.

Brock, first or second round stoppage due to GNP.  The real problem with the Mir fight is that his punches, oddly, didn't have enough power and he was trying to hammer fist instead of putting his shoulders and weight into actually punching Mir into paste.  I posted after the last fight that is he worked on his hands for a year, which he has pretty much done, he would be unstoppable.

This fight will be interesting, though, for a few reasons.  Heath certianly does not have the BJJ that Mir has, but out of his 28 wins, 16 of them have come from submission, so he has a decent ground game.  Oddly, he hasn't won a fight by submission in his last eleven fights, and then it was against the great "Khali"  ::) so you can count that or not.

Also, Heath has fought the very best there is, so he isn't likely to be intimidated in any way by Brock.  He has fought Fedor, Mirko, Nog (three times!).  He's been in the game for eleven years, and he's seen the best the game has to offer, and has fought them. Against the best he has usually lost, but this is the type of experience that will not allow Brock, or his hype, to scare him.  To put it in perspective, heath had his first fight in 1997, the same time Brock was trying out for the wrestling team at Bismark State Junior College, Bismark, ND.

IF Brock were to stop Herring GNP style that would be impressive. Fedor pounded Herring but couldnt finish him....Herring does a good job of rolling and getting out of harms way on the ground.

I think Brock does score a takedown but eventually Herring's savy takes over and wins him the fight.

BINGO.

If Fedor, who has without a doubt the hardest punching power when on the top can't finish Herring in 10 minutes, neither can Lesnar with his girly hammer fists. Yes, the fight will go to the ground, Lesnar will be on the top.. and then nothing much will happen. Lesnar is going to gas out and Herring's going to win. Either by submitting or knocking out gassed out Lesnar.

I don't much about the Heath guy but my friend is training him for his cardio (same guy who trained BJ) and he sent me some pics on my cell phone and Heath has abs.  I have no idea if he had them before.  But he said he is coming in great shape. But Lesnar is a big strong guy so we'll see.  Maybe he is hoping for it to go into later rounds.

Lesner is going in as a 2 to 1 favorite. Heath has shitty wrestling and has not submitted someone in over 5 years. This is why Dana had this match set up. Its perfect for Lesner!

If Heath can survive the early onslaught, I think he has a good shot.

the home crowd...

the pressure to win or basically be done...

I can see lesnar gettin gassed if heath can keep it standing up or gettin back to his feet if it goes to the ground.....

that being said I think lesnar GNPs heath midway through the 1st

If Herring has done the proper homework he should win this fight.  Brock needs to learn how to gameplan an opponent,  if he keeps bullrushing the way he does at the start of his fights he's going to end up as James Thompson part II for years to come.

Heath is a very tough man and proved it last night. I had Brock walking in and dominating and crushing Heths head. I guess I was right about dominating, but I have to say Heath is a very tough mother fucker. We all knew this from the Fedor fight, but this just re-instates it.

I still see a lot of holes in Brock's game,  I hope for his sake they keep him away from the BJJ black belts for his next fight.  I can still see him getting caught in subs very easy.

I think Congo would probably give him a better fight than Herring did. Eventhough Herring beat Congo, and Lesnar still has a lot of practicing to do. Still..... would be an excellent fight.

I'd rather see Lesnar against Gonzaga.

If/When  Kongo gets taken down Lesnar will tear him up like Herring. Kongo isn't as skilled on the ground as heath - look how badly heath was dominated.

He is no where near ready for Gonzaga, who is big & strong enough to beat him on the ground.  Kongo would be a a better fight because both have weak BJJ...
