You Dad was/is a legend. I remember him well. Can you ask him to post some of his old training routines?
To be honest, ....I talk to him almost daily, ...but it's to mostly just shoot the sh*t. I can pretty much accuratley answer most questions you would have since he put me through many workouts that were VERY similar to his (old) training days.
For instance, ...Arm day would have been like this: (For Biceps)...4 sets of 10-12 reps of standing or sitting alternating dumbell curls/4 sets of 10-12 reps of standing easy-curl bar curls/4 sets of 10-12 reps of preacher curls/ 4 sets of 10-15 reps of dumbell concentration curls(each arm) ...and he would "always" increase the weight with every freakin' set. Always.
(For Triceps)....Skull crushers(or flat bench tricep extentions with the easy curl) 4 sets of 10-12 reps, ..."I wouldn't suggest start these without warming up, kills the elbows" ..... 4 sets of 10-12 reps-Dumbell French press behind head, Tricep (one arm)kickbacks, "concentration movment".
This would change up sometimes but was pretty basic. It was more about the wieght and the lack of rest between sets that Neve was known for.
Here are a few impressive things Pat did at his strongest(Not at a meet) just messing around. Alot of guys would claim crazy things, but I've heard his old training partners vouch for alot of these things...........
*Curled 315 lbs with the bench bar at 200lbs bodyweight
*Military pressed 315 behind the neck at 185lbs
*Benched 505lbs in a workout at just 190lbs (tore his peck doing it)

...But did it.
*Could do reps while curling 90lb dumbells at 181lbs
***And my favorite, ...and very hard to believe, but true,.......Bench pressed 315lbs 22 times in a competition with workout partners. He challenged to out-rep their combined (total) which was like 16.
Keep in mind, I'm sure at 190lbs of bodywieght his form was far from perfect, but this little italian was a madman. He feared NO wieght.
