I was coming back from the 92 Olympia in Finland, which is about as far from Melbourne Australia as you can get. I crashed in Amsterdam for a few days and stayed in a medium sort of dive. Not rat infested but not high end.

I was ready to go out walking night and heard this singing coming from the room across the courtyard from me. No music just someone with an amazing voice. I looked out my window and there was Isaac Hayes warming up his voice for the concert he was doing that night. It was really cool and the dude had an amazing voice. I met him and some of his band and they were very down to earth. The band was ready to party but Isaac seemed a bit straighter and kept to himself.

This was before south park and he was mainly into reggae style

He actually got canned 2 seasons ago.

The Southpark guys wanted to make fun of scientology and Hayes refused (forget the fact he was on board with making fun of everyone else's beliefs).

So, he said he wouldn't do it... They said, well, you're fired... He walked.

The last Chef episode was "The Return of Chef" where they used old sound clips to make him do what they wanted him to do.

He became a member of NAMBLA or some shit in it.
