Give UFC credit you can't be much more fan friendly. The UFC Fight Club is a great deal where fans get extra perks like early access to the Friday weigh-ins. Club member also get to participate in a Q & A with a UFC star. Today, the folks in Minneapolis were treated to UFC president Dana White and The Ultimate Fighter 7 winner Amir Sadollah. But not all the fans happy to see White in attendance.
Apparently, there was a big Tito Ortiz fan in the house and she couldn't hold back her frustration with White any longer. The conversation in front 2,000 fans and a petrified Sadollah was highlighted White calling her 'Jenna Jameson' and 'Tito's Mom' several times. The fan, Corrie, responded with several f-bombs and a middle finger or two.
"He makes me so angry because I'm just passionate about the sport," said Crazy Corrie, a 29 year old from Toronto. "I grew up watching wrestling since I was three years old. Dana tries to play the nice card and then he's a jerk. If he likes you then you're on his good side. If he doesn't like you then you're in trouble."
The crack staff at ESPNRadio1100 decided that millions of sportsradio listeners back in Las Vegas needed to hear Crazy Corrie's maniacal rantings. She popped on the show and it turned out to be the longest, most annoying interview the station has ever done. I only wish that I carried a taser with me on the road. I would've loved to hear the classic, "Don't tase me bro," out of Corrie.
I love blogs but Corrie is a great example of overdoing it on the net. Don't believe everything you read.
"The fans who just started watching don't really know the real Dana. There's fans here saying thank you so much but do they read all the blogs? They don't read everything everyday and hear everything he says."
A quick glance at her MySpace page and you'll notice that she has 940 friends. It looks like 936 of them are fighters or in the fight game. She also has four of the New Kids on the Block as her top friends: Danny Wood, Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight and Joey McIntyre. An astute observer said Corrie had NKOTB written on her hands. I failed to notice that due to the fact that I'm not 11 years old. Enjoy this blog while it lasts, I'm predicting that I get shanked in the back by a Canadian at UFC 90 in Chicago.
