Ok, bush and the neocons have been working full time to restart the cold war.  At least that's exactly what it looks like.  They pushed the missile defense shield around Russia and backed out of missile treaties with them.  Started conquering the world and not giving a shit about threatening/planning to bomb the crap out of Russian allies.  In their own doctrines they chose to use America's new found only superpower status to assert dominance on the world.  It's only a no brainer that as soon as Russia got back on it's feet it would again start opposing this.  We didn't have to take this route but we have thanks to the neocons.  Anyway, here's were I'm confused, we were going to hold joint military exercises with Russia?  Why?  I mean I just don't get pushing Russia's buttons all in the wrong direction and then expect to maintain buddy buddy status   Gorbachev has said the US squandered the opportunity to improve global politics and he's 100% right.  Really, it's absolutely outrageous for these neocons to act like they have no responsibility for the current situation with Russia.  They're not only mostly to blame, they probably wanted exactly this.

why did we hault military operations...hmmm.

we'll never know for sure why we cancled the exercise but it's either a blatant ''fuck you, we had georgian gov hit a part of russian favoring land, and now we want chaos because we have the right because russia moved in''.

Or who knows, maybe cia had intel. that there would be a mass slaughter or ambush of our guys of some sort and they didn't want to tell the public  so they just stonewall'd everyone and backed out, i think our gov does do good things..here and there.

No, why were we going to do them in the first place... I'm trying to understand how we expect to be on good terms with a country we constantly kick in the sac...  Of course if we were going to hold them and now we're not, what happens now, Russia holds more joint excersises with China instead.  It just sounds silly and I don't get it.  I don't get neocons, they're psyhco.
