She may have cost Team USA the gold medal in the women's gymnastics team competition, but Olympian Alicia Sacramone can still stake claim on top honors for Internet attraction.

In the moments after Tuesday's heartbreaking loss to China, Google searches for "Alicia Sacramone is hot" were at volcanic levels, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. Olympics viewers logged on to find photos of the 20-year-old Massachusetts native.

According to the Times, Facebook pages created in the hours after the defeat promised photos of Team USA's eldest women's gymnast, with one fan site gaining 1,000 members.

Sacramone slipped off the balance beam during Tuesday night's final, costing the team the gold. She had to wait 2 minutes before performing because of a television delay, which team coordinator Martha Karolyi called "unusual."

"I was just really eager to do my routine and get the show on the road pretty much, but they did hold me for some time," Sacramone, the team's captain, said. "I guess I let my nerves get the best of me."

She couldn't shake it in the floor routine, either, slipping on her second tumbling run.

But those mistakes haven't haunted her Internet popularity. NBC said Thursday that Sacramone had garnered 1.4 million views on its Olympic Web site, bested only by swimmer Michael Phelps.

A comment on one of her Facebook tribute pages could explain why: "SHE'S 20, so she's not jailbait!" a post reportedly said.
