if mccain ever fired a shotgun, the recoil would kill his decrepit ass instantly.

Hmmm. I hope somebody takes him hunting soon.

Pretty sad McCain is a presidential candidate. He should be out chasing chickens on the farm or something. Not running for president.

I'm trying to encode your statement, but I'm having difficulty enciphering your rhetoric.

No not tonight. But I'm seriously impressed that you remembered that, perhaps you ended up reading one or the other.

"I don't want to take any money from the rich. I want everybody to get rich," McCain said. "I don't want to raise anybody's taxes. I really don't."

Why won't mccain promise not to raise taxes?

Timothy McVeigh was a veteran.

What are you implying?

Surely you're not comparing McVeigh to McCain. Are you, 240?

Other than the fact they were both military veterans the comparison ends.

I thought both did a good job but McCain came out the winner.

Obama gave insight into how he thinks about issues, intelligent guy but...very academic.  Sometimes Obama talked around the answer.  He also talked about sacrifice again...we are sacrificing now Barack, we don't want to wait 20 yrs for alternative fuels.  I liked McCain's answer to energy much better...do everything we can now.  They are both in agreement with alternative fuels, but McCain is in favor of nuclear & drilling now, which will make a difference in the next few yrs.
John McCain showed his knowledge, experience and was more direct with his responces.

Calmus, you obviously hate McCain but still surprising to me that your so disrespectful.  See, I respect both of these guys...they both deserve it.

Collosus, I agree.  Being a Ron Paul supporter and Independent, I was thinking of obstaining from the vote because I was not a big fan of either.  However, I agree with more of McCain's policies than Obama so I likely will be checking the box for McCain...I would not have said this a couple months ago.

When speaking of taxes, they didn't mention capital gains, payroll taxes and dividends taxes.  This means so much to businesses, business investors, particularly small businesses including mom & pop shops who are struggling.  Also the inheritance tax and the marriage penalty tax.  I think people who watched need to know Obama isn't just going to raise taxes on families making $250K and over, he is planning to raise taxes on all of the above.  That is a very significant issue.

The other thing people fail to mention is that McCain will also lower taxes for the poor, just not quite as much.  For McCain's plan to work, we better see a significant cut in federal spending...or else the deficit will rise.

What spending cuts will make up for the tremendous revenue shortfall that would come from McCain's promised tax cuts?  Will he cut Social Security? ::) Of course the deficit will continue to skyrocket under a McCain administration. His promise to balance the budget by 2013 is complete bullshit.

It doesnt matter who gets in Obama or McCain they will raise taxes on the middle class...mark my words

Obama has made it clear that he wouldn't (not that he couldn't be lying).

McCain has parsed his words (at least the quotes posted here) that you can't tell what he would do.

Saying he doesn't want to raise taxes is not the same as saying he will not raise taxes.

I think he (or someone) chose that phrasing very carefully.

and again both will raise taxes on the middle class this is where the money is in our country they cant get around it maybe mccain knows this and is why he is dancing around it while obama is flat out lying about it.

McCain kicked his ass. Obama answered his question and didn't say anything wrong, he supported his position. But McCain has lived a more full and important life, he's done more. Obama used the vote on Iraq tas his toughest decision, um yeah but he wasn't in Congress, so what the hell is he talking about? The crowd like McCain more, but that was a given based on the audience. The format was great, u got honest answers based on what each guy felt, not on the others answes.

In all fairness, Mccain is about 25 years older.

Of course he's more experienced.  I'm sure Strom Thurmond or Byrd or one of those 90-year old senators has about 20 more years experience than Mccain.  Are they better than Mccain because of it?

Looking at the globalist socialist and the senile wannabe neocon we have running, I think we're all missing Ron Paul right about now.
