Biden has alot of foreign policy knowledge, he knows what he's doing. At least if Obama were to pick him as VP, if he were to get in some brain would be put into decisions, Obama seems not to have enough answers for questions or concerns "above his paygrade"

this is hilarious - the same people who bitch about about a marginal increase in taxes on the rich and characterize the Dems as socialists are more than happy to give a billion US tax dollars to Georgia

i wonder if Biden making this public statement now has to do with him getting picked this week?

Like, it makes obama appear to have more cred in this situation if biden has asked for a billion, and mccain hasnt asked for a cent.  it's like obama/biden already is more proactive on the issue.

it's all posturing, but obama would be able to stand at debates and say his team called for $1B first.

straw makes a good point, YAM.

This is global socialism, no?  Georgia is poor and weak.  So instead of lletting darwinism take care of them, we're taking $1B out of our social security money to give to them.

It's socialism, bro.

Straw makes a good point? 240 do you know anything about public debt either?

It looks like neither one of you know what your talking about in this thread. Just asking some asine questions to sound like you have a point.

So what was the question you want to ask, that has to do with this socialism? Or public debt? Or the United States interest in Georgia.

Happy to answer any real questions.

Cause Biden knows that this is not public deb but real revenue generating income. As for public debt, this deal of giving them a measly billion dollars is what is called "working debt" and is the wheels procreating of a friendly alliance and deduction of Russia's grip on the lower Rhinelands, at the same time

Damn Straw, you must have been educated in some backwood po-dunk town, cause you sure as hell are not anywhere close to a milionaire in terms of knowing about economics, or foreign matters.

Either that or your anti-American, and can't justify your reasons.

Anyone inthe thread even know that Georgia's president is THE RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD

biden wants to send $1B of US money to Georgia to 'secure our interests'.

What are those interests?  Can you list them?
How will that billion be spent?  Just giving them to cash to buy guns and bombs from us, fueling the military machine that's seeing its grasp in iraq ending and needing another perpetual conflict to fill their coffers?

Why does the richest man in the world need a billion of our dollars?  We don't need the $ here?

Someone tell me why the United States, should not help Georgia, let's start with something simple.

Nevermind the fact that we have "50+ future years" of investments in Georgia, and all of them invested based upon Georgia's president. And up until know his large success with what he has done thus far, was straightening the country, the United States tremendously.

Don't come back with these questions, if you don't already know them yourself.

We don't need the money here? So you think if you have money you should not invest it? A country should have a cap on growth?

Oh jeez

We have a notional obligation to help. This is not the first time we have embarked on a wartime expansion of a private sector country, in order to secure and deepen their own asset market to widen the whole capital market of the world.

This KGB f-up, is real and unless we throw major money 1 billion is chump change, at this probme, the West UK included is in trouble.

Bush and his cast of morons instigated this fake issue and from what I've seen the Georgians were the aggressors.   I see no reason to reward them with a billion dollars from the US Tax Dollars.

If we're going to give them a billion dollars then for fucks sake let's at least not borrow the money that we're going to give them.   If we care so much let's all reach into our pockets and give them the money ourselves.  I for one will contribute nothing so one of you other generous souls will have to cover my share

WTF are you blathering about?

Georgia is our cousin?  Since when?  Who else is my cousin and why do I have to give them money?  Rather, why do I have to borrow money and give it to them?

When is someone going to give us some money.  How about our cousin Iraq.  They've got a few extra bucks and they owe us a favor

Why don't you PM Saakashvili and ask him.  He's on the record saying the US behaved in ways that invited the invasion:

Nothing you would understand.

You money? I can assure you, your money went right back into your pocket at some point, haha.

Hint, the reason why Iraq has such a big surplus right now, is they have kept doing things illegally, like always taking out short short loans and paying back interest in anticipation of tax receipts and illegally paying interest or rewarding lenders with non cash privleges, ie. oil. Which to a country has no use unless it can be converted to cash, where lenders come in, and came in.

Haha, you think Iraq owes us? In the words of Thomas Carlye "Debt owed" we did not invest in Iraq to see a instant return, that comes much later. We first had to secure the freedoms and social welfare of the people, can't make money or have a nice world with subjugated individuals living in fear.

Iraq will be a great place one day. Georgia was already a great place.

I will give you some advice, if you read the yahoo article, it will explain in a way how much the US is invested, and why the West invited these actions. Since now Germany, Poland, etc. are on the sides of the west, shaking their heads telling us "we told you this would happen, and you should have not have tried to mkae friends with them"

haha wow.

Sorry did you have to adjust your bandwidth for your internent millions to come through?

Take some of that money and buy a book or an education.

Or perhaps you can stop with your blame Bush rhetoric and open up to the real world where more things hinge on the actions of other nations that just one person.

Your pretty sad. But depending on your age you may have some glimmer yet.

If anything should you not be backing this decision, since he is on Obama's short list, and with Obama's undecisvness and things being "over my paygrade"

Obama in fact does not understand any of this. While, McCain is personal friends with the Georgian president, and knows what is as stake...as does Biden.

Which he won't get picked, since he has done way too much for this nation, and will over shadow Obama.

I always try to look at things issue by issue and I try to remain open to the idea that I can and will be wrong

I don't have owe any deference to Obama, Biden and especially not Georgia

If McCain somehow knows something that Bush doesn't know then he should tell him and us.

If you know "what is at stake" then please tell us and just don't say WMD's (remember when we fell for that? :D)
