Big difference dude.  The media is pumping Phelps as the greatest Olympian ever which means comparisons to all athletes.  I haven't received the Time magazine proclaiming Apples as the best fruit.

I'd say Bolt because of the manner in which he is winning these races - Phelps got lucky a few times but Usain is absolutely destroying the competition - no-one is even coming close.

you cant take away the fact that phelps is better than all the other swimmers in the world right now. but as for the world records. they are bullshit. special suits combined with a multimillion dollar pool that was designed to be the fastest is why WR's are being broken like theres no tomorrow. the pool is extra deep, has extra wide lanes and the best circulation and temperature regulation possible.

Being a good Olympian is about more than winning the medal.  Bolt acts like a jackass when he wins.  The 100m race is a great example.  He could have beat that record by far more but he slowed up and tried to further embarrass his competitors.  Where is the sportsmanship expected of an Olympian?  He's acting like a cocky little shit from Watts who just won a basketball game.

Phelps won one of his golds with 0.01s margin, while Bolt didn't even have proper competition. Bolt is clearly the better olympian - he crushes the competition.
