I think the reality is that he died on the ground, blood gushing everywhere.

He was just displayed on his feet.  The creepy/stupid/gansta part is that he had been talking about his funeral and wake for a long time.  Sort of like getting killed was an accomplishment.

One of those West African countries (Togo? Cameroon?) now has an industry in bespoke flash coffins - Ferraris or RRs. The more elaborate, the more money involved, the more the displayed respect. Some of them are pretty neat - in the same way being buried in a casket logoed with your favourite NFL team.  :-\
