The guy looks pretty sharp and everything he said was on point. It looks like he takes pride in his work. The guy should be heading a fortune 500 company here in the US.

It's becasue there are so few thefts in Saudi Arabia due to the relatively harsh punishment for theft, so there are very few (but some) with one less hand.

One of my friends who visited Saudi Arabia was saying how you could forget your wallet or watch just about anywhere and it won't be missing when you come back.

Depends on the professsion. Many Americans are happy to work in Saudi.

Never really thought about it, but which law would really negatively affect you, especially if you're married and then shouldn't be committing adultery anyway

I'm not saying it's ideal (i would rathe live here), but if a great work opportunity arose there as it does for some Americans - I'd consider it.

CJ's right on this bobs. Sure, professionals parachute in for the high salaries but they live in compounds and leave at the end of term. The menial jobs are filled by those from the Indian sub-continent and they're treated like trash. The whole regime is one big hypocritical ball of human and civil rights rights abuses sustained by a very rich minority sitting on oil. Check agencies like Human Rights Watch or Amnesty International and Saudi is one of the worst.

You can be negatively affected whether you're married or not depending on how the "secret police" view it.

Plenty of westerners have been arrested for stupid reasons. One American businesswoman was arrested because she and her male colleague went to starbucks to finish their project. He office building had lost power so they had just taken their stuff to the coffeehouse and the woman was arrested because she was with a man in a public place. Even an appeal from their employer made no difference. She was forced to apologize for being with another guy- even though they were in a public place doing their work.

Lets not forget the numerous cases where muslim women are whipped whenever they report rape by muslim men. Most victims chose to suffer in silence and shame despite the fact that they were innocent.

The middleeast has some weirdo laws.
