I don't disagree with you Chick, however who's to say that having the top 12-15 pros is not putting on a show for the fans?
Currently, with over 20+ athletes, with a good number with no chance of winning, how is it entertaining to the fans for a 16th - 20+
place competitors to take up stage time?  If you say you want to reward those who qualified for the O by giving them stage time,
I understand that, but I'd say do it like the smaller shows like the NY Pro or Colorodo, where each one gets 30sec to 1 minute and get
on with the top 12-15.
I see no reason for a show to be more than 2hrs.  More is not necessarily better.

Eventually, the top 10-15, arent the top 10-15....people retire, get older, move on, etc.

It's a big domino effect...we have shows that are Olympia qualifyers, pro's place in the top 3...they qualify, fair and square. Making the qualifying process tougher would only limit the smaller shows with evern less numbers of pro's, less people going to watch, and less sponsorship...which equates into less money.

some shows the top 5 qualify.   Is 5th place at the Ironman really the best of the best?

Or...making it harder to qualify adds more drama to the smaller shows.  more top tier bodybuilders enter to win a spot in the Olympia.    more exciting local shows means more people watching which means more money.

it is easy to figure out the optimum number of people to invite to the Olympia:   everyone who qualifies should be allowed to perform at the evening show.

I would never have a top 5 that qualify, not my call...

I would have no automatic qualifying spots from the Olympia, other than the winner...

Concerning the smaler shows, sorry, it wouldn't work that way....in reality, just less pro's willing to spend the time and money, only to get by a Dexter Jaxson, or a Victor Martinez who are entered.

strange, when I tried to argue those things in the "Re: Bob Chic will petition to SEPARATE the 202s from the Open Class" thread, your response was (as it always is) "stop complaining, everything is fine the way it is, we the powers that be in the IFBB know what we're doing".

Really? is that what I said?

I've said for many years now that I wouldn't have Olympia top 6 requalify automatically....actuall y, I was arguing against it back when it was top 10, and had input on reducing it to 6...

My argument against your call for only winners of the shows qualifying, was the issue....looks like your "muscle memory" is showing signs of age.
