Police, protesters clash as Dems convene in Denver
« on: August 26, 2008, 08:12:19 AM »
"one protester said officers charged the protesters with no warning."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/denverpost/20080826/pl_denverpost/10298328

hopefully we get some video of this.  So many times this ends up being and undercover officer acting as a provocateur.

Anyone engaging in a non-peaceful protest, or who are causing undo disruption should be dealt with swiftly.  I have little sympathy for these radical nutjobs who are provoking confrontation.

neither do i.  I just know there's a good history of outside elements infiltrating the crowd and groups and instigating non peaceful action.  So I'm always suspicious when I see this.  There's also an element in these protests that have stated they want it to blow up so it may be just that.  But I remain suspicious.

ok, watching democracy now and looks like there is info coming out that puts the police action in question.  Alex Jones is going to have a field day with this :D  I did see video where they split them into groups, circled them so they couldn't get out and then pepper sprayed the split up groups.   I didn't see any charges like they said, the people just wanted to leave.  They were trying to get out and at one point the lead guy moving to get out had his hands up giving a peace gesture with his fingers.  Looks like plenty of this got on camera so the Denver police might get slammed with lawsuits.  There was no order to disperse and it looks like they set it up as one watchgroup stated that part of the crowd was split by officers to an area of cops that were waiting and encircled, pepper sprayed and arrested the group.  Very interesting.

So if they don't want to get circled and hosed down with pepper spray then fuucking go away. If you take a look at these 'protests', it's always the same fukwits doing the protesting. Fuuck them. Head in there with batons and fire hoses and beat the living piss outta them to the point that it's no longer worth the thrill factor and news coverage.

These people, no matter how radical, have a right to protest as long as they do not harm anyone. PERIOD.

But they ARE harming someone.. ME. They are wasting my tax dollars because the police have to go and corral these retards and make sure people like me don't go beat the piss outta the whole lot of them.... All the time sopping up union overtime and neglecting the real crime that is taking place elsewhere in the city.

easy tiger, Hugo can't have his beloved terrorists Gitmo apologists get hurt, they are one in the same.

Tough crap, in New York if they wore a mask they were arrested on the spot. Denver has been nothing but nice to these radicals.

There are laws they have to follow and other various things that should be done but in violation of these things, they should have been given a warning to disperse.  There was no such warning.  I'll bet anything, with the video coming out, there will be lawsuits over this.

Well Hugo, I apologise that I would like America to be respectible.

Nobody needs to give those mouthy professional protesters any warning.

And if I am a Nazi, then you must be a socialist?

We have to have the right to protest our government's actions and must fight to keep that right.  However, if it gets violent or very disruptive, the police have to act.  I'm sure this will get spun in several directions.  Hopefully the police did what they were trained to do & followed protocol so there's no whining about being unfairly treated.  Many of these radicals are there to provoke...even though they stand for peace...quite confusing.

I think there was an element that wanted to provoke this time, but I do know the majority were there for non violent protest.  It's to bad all get caught up, however it went down.

sweet, we get to see some major beat down action soon. They are planning on blocking the streets so delegates won't be able to make it to the convention, haha.
