deicide, there are a lot of people on here who probably SHOULD commit suicide ("pumphard" comes to mind...the children of the world would be a lot safer).  But you aren't one of them.

So many people wonder about what happens when people pass on and so few actually look in the most logical place-the people who have actually done it.  www.near-death.com is filled with NDEs of people who were dead and brought back to life.

I don't know about that but there are a lot here.  I talked/forced one down from a bridge one night.  Generally the darker it get's, the more suicides.

Less suicidal people in the tropics. Fly over to an island and kick back at a nice beach. Great for renewing yourself.

Man...I wish Nordic had not started this thread but I felt compelled to answer his question.

Then, you need to talk with someone. PM me, Stella, or Loco, or even Colossus. Killing yourself is NO laughing matter.

No, believe it or not, South Korea is...here is a sample of why that is the case.

Quote
Unlike other systems where individual merit and achievements are a determinative factor in one's prospects for success, in South Korea, the main determinative factor for success is what university the person went to. A person's educational pedigree and credentials are far more important than other factors such as skills and personality. Hence, a Korean student who gets into a top notch university is likely set for life and is guaranteed a lifetime of fortunes and financial security. Meanwhile, those Korean students who are unable to get into a good university face few, even gruesome, options. They can either 1.) commit suicide, 2.) become unemployed and homeless, 3.) join the military, or 4.) settle for taking low-paying, menial jobs for survival. However, there are a few Koreans who opt to take the vocational route and become successful. The pressures to succeed academically in South Korea (where the university one attends is often determinative of one's success) contributes to the country's high depression and suicide rates. South Korea has the highest suicide rate in the OECD. Of Korean teenager deaths, suicide is the second most common cause, behind automobile collisions

Swedish sounds so cool as a language that anyone would stop from going through with it just by hearing the beautiful words.

Very, but usually something will catch your attention and keep you where you are-that's why I'm here right now.  Where are you then?  Where have you been?

No. Physicians and pathologists are quite convincing on this point. This NDE stuff is just the result of the brain, deprived of oxygen, shutting down sector by sector and your last fleeting brain processes. It's analogous to turning off the lights of a big building floor by floor. Nothing more.  :)

Well they're not actually because there are plenty of DRs(Moody, Morse MD, Kubler Ross, Ring, Sabom MD) in the field of NDEs/on the other side of the argument and some are much more involved than your average see the light at the end of the tunnel.  But everyone's entitled to their own opinion, not really here to argue.  Just suggesting that people who wonder about life after death start by asking the people who have actually done it-even if they do think it's bull, and then form a more educated opinion.

I don't think it can ever come close to the real thing. The real thing starts when you are at the point of no return.

I guess I fall on the humanist side of all of this, then. No surprises, there!  :)

/i remember reading a note on kubler ross' last days and apparently she flamed out badly instead of following her step-like death paradigm.  :D

Momentarily in Germany, heading over to the UK soon...don't know after that...I have lived in: the USA, UK, Germany, France, Austria, South Korea and Iceland...and visited many, many more places.

Aren't the Icelandic people the nicest you have ever met?  I've never been treated so well in my life.  Just a thought...you know sometimes you have to live in the places that need you rather than the other way around.
