Yes, the town of Binghamton is a shithole but the University is pretty good. Most importantly because it was a State University, I have no debt. I had many good professors from whom I learnt a great deal.

DK, have you trained at the Kodokan or any martial arts over there?  I want to know what martial arts training is like in Nihon.  Do they give the white man a hard time in the dojo, make him prove himself more, is it hard for a gai to find a dojo, etc?

lol, no problem if you pay in the most dojos.

Some smaller, stricter dojos will not let you in if you do't speak japanese and/or have a recommendation letter by someone who is known.

On the other hand, if you have a hard time depends mostly on the style i guess. Most taller white guys won't have to many problems in 90% of japanese dojos, in styles where it's more technic than power, you might have.

Especially police or firefighter martial arts dojos are tough as hell.
