« on: August 29, 2008, 12:16:12 AM »
Vince Taylor is Competing in the both the Master open AND the open at 53 years old !!
Aim is just to look good ahead of a new contract deal in Europe then go for it in 2009. He is still getting over major back problems but has found a new way of training around the problem.

Quote from Vince re The Atlantic - "i just  asked the org, if  i could  compete in the open & they  said  its  up to me........  SO  -----  iam  in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here was Vince back in April this year - HUGE!!!  Check out the video of this guestposing on www.tribalstorm.com (under news)

what were the "major back problems"?

that sucks, his upper body was the only thing really keeping his physique competitive.

Major problems with 3 discs! Won't ever recover BUT Vince says he's found a way to train around the problem and it's working BIGtime!
Forget age - Vince is still going to be a competitive top pro in 2009

personally, I'm old school and think today quads are over developed. Vince's are good for the ideals of the 1970's and 1980's

Agree.

Platz or De Mayo size was ridiculous before, now its become the norm. Up to early 90's it was still cool.

Taylor looks great, amazing for his age! :o

This guy has great genes/response to hormones. Those arms were big already before he started training. He once stated they were 18in the first year of training.

One of those guys that looks at the weight, and grows.

I like Vince...one of the best EVER

Among best calves ever

However,

he needs bigger trunks in that pic

He should take the money he spoends on gear and invest it...he is 53 and purportedly has money problems

He's just landed a good sponsorship deal in Europe and is working to "do some damage" in 2009 - Vince should be top 3 in ANY bodybuilding line up.

He'll be a victim of politics. He should have beaten Yates on the Euro Tour some years back, he was huge and ripped to shreds and Yates turned up fat, small and un-tanned after 2 weeks off and still won!

Put it this way:

He is 53

If he has no plan, retirment savings, or other investments

Its his own fault

And he is pretty screwed

Rumours were probably started by the jealous young pros who ass he whipped last year! If he can still "live the dream" compete, travel and have fun in the process then why not? Does not mean he is broke does it. Not exactly a miserable, shitty job is it?!

Keep it positive and look out for Vince in 2009. He won't be at his very best at the Atlantic (although should easily win the masters), BUT He's gonna shock a LOT of people during next years season.

I do wish him well, indeed. However, I understand he has kids and whatnot. I was just wondering where that all fits in

Most guys work 9 to 5 minimum, he can choose his hours, take his family with him round the world etc etc etc I'm sure they all fit in just fine ... Again, not a bad life.

I too have a wife and kids and haven't seen them since yesterday evening, so I'm outta here - Oh to be a pro bodybuilder  ;)
