Bodybuilding in Germany
« on: August 31, 2008, 07:01:39 PM »
Anyone know anything about bodybuilding in Germany?  I'm moving there in a couple of days for two years, and I was thinking I'd like to know about a number of things from where to get supplements, to how to find a workout partner, to how available gear is over there, what kinds and whether or not it's prohibited by law.  Anyway, anyone who knows the country (I've never been) and who wouldn't mind giving some advice...?

It's an EU country... so you're not going to be able to walk in the local pharmacy and buy gear otc. But they have gyms, suppliment stores, and everything else you'd find in the US.

That's my hope.  I just know that when I lived in France it was hard to find a gym - and there weren't many serious lifters...

It's harder and harder to find a decent gym in the states nowadays. All the gyms now are "fitness centers" where you can get spa treatment, and do everything other than work out. And then they insist on having those stupid rubber weights.

Yeah, but I went to this gym in France where the bars were those little skinny ones, and the weights didn't go above 25 pounds.  Everything was piled into a corner and you had to dig around for the stuff you wanted.  The benches were hella wobbly - and then they had one of those machines where the band goes around your ass and it just shakes...wtf?!?
