a few hours ago reports were that the eye was broken up and it was decreasing but warnings remained high.  I hope this isn't a Katrina repeat.

youandme will have a field day over that.  But this was what happened exactly.  I was listening to a radio show before Rita hit.  This woman called in saying she saw huge beams of red light over the ocean from above down to the sea.  She sounded very sincere like she was excited about what she just saw and had to report it.  I got really curious and started looking like crazy for any other reports of these beams of light.  She reported there were several rays of this light coming down from the sky.  I could not find anything.  Then I found this sat image of Rita with those "huge warm things" circled as an anomaly in the data.  But when I saw that, I though, oh hell, this is what that chic called in about.  Youandme's hurricane machine at work perhaps

that's the image of Rita above.  Not the same one, the first one I found had that area listed as an anomaly and that was a gov site if I remember right.

Looks like experience is the best teacher here...the local, state & federal governments have acted together with good communication this time in responce to this storm.  Hats off to all gov officials.

Lets not forget if this was not in the political season we're in, it could be a totally different picture.  No doubt there is a lot of political motive in not fucking this one up.
