It's amazing how old, staunch Republicans will not waver, even in the face of such a meltdown. Smart people will disboard the ship when it's half sunk. People of ethics will get off when the party is flagrantly in violation of it's own.

I play cards at a casino full time. Most of my opponents are older, retired guys. They're decent guys. They've spent a life either in service, or working hard to support thier families. In thier time as youth, the Republican party was the adult, responsible choice. Somewhere along the line, it deteriorated into the neo-con mess it is today. But disclosure was not a part of American politics until Clinton got a bj. Since, it's come to light how fucked the Repubs really are.

Unfortunately for the now aged men who have spent a life doing what they think was right, it's clear to them and any other person of intelligence that thier party did not have thier best interests in mind. More unfortunate, however, is that they feel beholden to continue to support the party or otherwise risk a disassembling of the beliefs they've held on to for so long.

The result is that despite the obvious failure of the Bush Administration (on a scale unmatched), and the floundering of the Repubs in nominating a geriatric and appointing a complete novice with a closet full of skeletons as VP, these supporters still hang on to the elephant. It's sad, really.

I have a feeling that Palin will probably step aside and Romney will step in.  Palin's a far bigger liability than Meiers ever was, and they put her aside.

Somehow I think was all organized. It was such a horrible pick out of left field.

1. It stole Obama's thunder from the speech announncing her as the VP.

2. Brought up the whole "expereince" thing about Obama with the Democrats feuling is (or that's how the Rep turned it around)

3. All this pro life stuff comes up

4. He gets "credit" for picking a women

5. She can slide back in her hole and amke it seem like she is a good family values hero talking care of her Down's kid, pregnant teen, and grandchild - and deflect the first scandal fro  her first grandchild

5. McCain can put a an as VP with experience

6. McCain will get the "poor women being kept down" votes

I couldn't care less who's fucking who or whose daughter is pregnant or who's getting a blow job in the oval office.  Socialism is not the answer.  Hold your nose and vote Republican anyway.
Damn, best thing I've read today. Spot on.

He is proposing if X occurs than N will happen when N=an impossibility.

It is also interesting to note that whenever the United States has been the most socialist it has also been the most prosperous and economic freedom and mobility has been more capable and widespread to a wider population demographic rather than just the few.

We would all be speaking German if there was not a socialized effort from 1940-1945 to retool every machine and do what is needed to benefit the entire country by encouraging people to work together for a common goal.

The United States military is still the top socialist operating body in the world and it is very efficiently and prosperously run.

This part is true. Thinking people recognize that WWII was an anomaly. Barring world war, a free market economy is always better.

The internet is the greatest Socialist invention in human history.

I have yet to see one negative of any form of true socialism.  I don`t think most people know what true socialism is or even have a correct working definition of what it entails and how it is carried out.

Why not have a mixture of both? It doesn`t have to be all or nothing you know.

If the baby is hers, then she admittedly spent 17 hours speaking, chatting, and FLYING, after her water broke, with a pre-mature Downs Syndrome child.  She's already disqualified herself on the grounds of lack of common sense.

Click on this map to read it more clearly.  These are her own ADMITTED actions.   Does this appear to be a woman with good decision-making skills?

I can't think of one operation that our government runs efficiently. I stand by my convictions that the private sector is better equipped to run sh!t.

who needs habius corpus and the 4th amendment?    if you're not doing anything wrong, you have no reason to worry about the government spying on you.
