I'm neither shocked nor appalled by this at all. Teens will be teens.
Just because your mom is gov, and jumps at the change to be a willing political pawn,
...that no reason why you shouldn't have a life. Not very becoming, ...but hardly damning.
Besides, ...after having seen the escapades of the Bush twins over the past 8 yrs, ...these pics are mild.
...although, ...I must admit, ...we never saw anything like this coming from Chelsea. 

Let's just say it's safe to assume that Democratic teens are far more well behaved than Republican ones.

kids will be kids, but there are signs this is coming.  They don't just go from being great, law-abiding kids, to drinking liquor and getting knocked up overnight.

I don't know how this behavior wasn't caught before it ended up on myspace and in the nat'l news.  There ARE signs.  Parents have to catch them.  parents have to vet the friends and boys their teenage daughters hang out with.  You know if the boy your daughter is seeing is a self-proclaimed reddnexk twho loves to beat people up.  it ain't rocket science to catch your 16 year old drinking rum.  If palin's hubby was a stay-at-home dad as claimed, he should have been all over this.

I have to agree, teens will be teens, not saying this is great thing but not a Charles Manson issue here. Poor kid has been thrust into the spotlight, my kid and others aren't subject to.

These issues do come into play as thats how things go, and the "family values platform" of the person who raised her.

I doubt we will ever see anything remotely like this from McCain's girls, as they knew from birth their dad was a public figure. They may drink lol, but not take pics and put them online. Palins kids were dropped in quickly, so it's different for them.

EVERY kid?  I didn't touch alcohol until I was 21.  I never smoked and never used drugs.  I"m sure there are a lot of kids out there who actually do follow the law, and a lot of parents who keep an eye on their kids.  If the kid doesn't have access to liquor, and is raised to avoid scumbag kids, it's possible to avoid it.

True. It was all around me, yet I didn't touch a drink until 18, and have smoked weed twice in my life. Once at 13, and hated it. Gave it one more try at a coffee shop in Amsterdam in my early 30's and STILL hated it. 

Not all kids feel the need or desire to get high and/or drunk all the time at high school age. Parental values and paying attention to what is going on in their lives plays a big part.

Ever read the UK press when Chelsea lived there? Here every date was headline news. Bush's girls have all sorts out about them to put it mildly. McCain himself called Chelsea Clinton ugly when she was a teenager as we may recall. Bush's team used McCains 8 yr old kid, implying she was some love child of his with a black woman in 2000.

That isn't my idea of off limits. People like to bandy that around to sound good, but it's not true in practice.

Why does she like to mention and get press about the downs baby to support her prolife stance if kids are off limits? Why does she mention her son going to Iraq all the time if kids are off limits? She hasn't complained about the press covering those 2 kids.

I meant went Chelsea was in college, years ago. She headlined the Daily Mail etc. And yes, the Bush twins"self inflcted bad publicity" got them in the press....they were in the press. I doubt the media would cover Palins kid if she wasn't pregnant, the other girls are being left alone, same premise as Bushs girls.

And no matter how anyone shakes it, kids get covered. We see this right now. Right or wrong, it happens. So Palin made this choice knowing reality. It isn't my job to protect her kid, it's hers.

well apparently to YOU, CQ and NOW BENNY it a gang sign...LOL and finally  and the idea that you guys have any idea of what goes on with todays youth is laugable. Chunking or throwing the duece is a way of saying "peace, im out" or saying whats up. Again maybe you ppl should hold off judgement until you know all the facts...i guess that much restraint is a little much for some though.
