Interview with Damain "Bench Press Machine" Osgood
« on: September 06, 2008, 04:03:10 PM »
Damian Osgood

As a teenager Osgood shirt benched 465 pounds. He's since gone on to push up over triple bodyweight in competition and he's also moving over 400 pounds raw in the gym as a 181 class bencher. As a junior division bencher, he put himself into the 600 pound press club and now he's temporarily turning his attention to competition bodybuilding.

In this interview, BPM Osgood talks about diet and nutrition for power benchers, his advice for lifters looking to build their raw bench and his future lifting plans.

Where's the video of "the coach's" claimed 540 @ 185?

The biggest raw contest bench in history in the 181 class is 556 and that was Rick Weil's back in 1986. The biggest 198 class competition raw bench is Mike MacDonald's with a 562.

"The coach" would need to post video and the official contest date, federation and event location (for research) to claim such a number and be legit. No offense, but it's a hard stat to believe without solid proof.

he claims he benched 535 at 181 Raw in like 1984 and that Gus Rethswisch saw him do it but he has no pictures or no one to back up his claim so who knows, seems a little far fetched.
