How can any rational human being not accept that music and public icons will have some affect on youngsters. Its like saying youngsters do not get influenced by their favourite sports stars and hence strive to practice hard, emulate moves and be like that hero.
To say that a child of 10-16 will not be influenced by these gangster thugs who are seen as 'cool' in today's society is just plain stupidity. People like you will never accept your problems that's why there is no hope.
Please have a look at any psychology paper regarding things that influence children - i guarantee music and music icons is up there. In the past certain types of music have influenced the masses, this is always going to be the case - i am not saying it is right but as an adult i understand completely the worry parents have when their children listen to these negative types of music.
Let me summarise rap:
- Rapping and boasting about money = human being with no class, nobody likes a boaster or someone throwing their wealth in other peoples face.
- Rapping about killing = which human being of any intelligence would be happy taking a life.
- Rapping about bitches = maybe why black children have no fathers and women are treated like shit.
- Rapping about white man putting them down = hmmm strange that Indians, Chinese, Japanese and many other minorities thrived in the US yet blacks and Latinos can't get their act together.
Face facts, rap has had an enormous influence in the US, from the way children dress to the way they talk and act. There is little positive to come from such a backwards, demeaning form of music. Please open your eyes and face the facts - most of us do not like being racist because its not politically correct, but the one's who are rational recognise the statistics don't lie.
