The first ever woman on the ticket and she turns out to be a dunce.

Feminists are a clever bunch generally.  They must be tearing out their pubes by the handful.

Billy - She's hopeless.  Game over.  Save your energy for another thread.

pretty much.

She said she intended to pierce America's heart with those 18 million shards from the glass ceiling.
Through the heart indeed!

Then there was that utterly stupid rhetoric she kept repeating...  "we can't blink"

Of course she can't blink. In order to blink, ...one must first have their eyes OPEN! She clearly doesn't.  :'(

Ya, it was funny watching a woman put on the machismo.  I thought at any moment she'd say, "Ya know, I'm a tough little cookie, Charlie!"

She'll do more harm than good for women in politics.

BTW, my absolute fav moment, which no one has yet mentioned, is at 8:30 when she gives the little nod & wink.  It's so bad.  Someone should make a .gif of that.

come on rob, billy. you guys know that she will never run this country if she was indeed vp and mcain died in office. she will look the role and play the role but a few men will control her in whatever she does. she will do what the guys behind the scene will want. its not gonna matter if she is vp.

And those guys would be who?... You want to vote for a bunch of shadows you know even less about than Palin?

Would that be Saudi sheiks, Myanmar thugs, Nigerian dictators, Iraqi warmongers and Somali warlords?
...cause all of them were working to put McCain in office, ...at times for free. What'll they want as payback?

Gibson: Would we have to go into war with Russia?

Palin: Perhaps so.

WTF ???  If Russia fights with its NATO neighbor, Palin says we'l go to war with Russia.  unreal.  This woman is talking about starting WWIII over some russian domestic drama which has been present for hundreds of years.

Even worse, America hasn't even fully prosecuted the other two wars it's in, ...and she's talking about a third war,
...one in which Georgia is clearly in the wrong.

A 12 yr old American eye-witness to the truth

It's bad enough the most powerful military on the planet is bogged down and stretched so thin it's bursting at the seams, ...but now this little pop tart, and I mean that in all sincerity, is talking about bogging down the US army even further by backing some shitty little country that wants to pick a war with countries bigger than it.

It reminds me of that scene in "How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days" when Kate Hudson's character started mouthing off to the big guy in the theatre. It was Mcconaughey's character that had to fight about it, ...not her.

If anything, the only good that will come out of that, is that NATO member countries will probably fight hard to keep Georgia out of NATO. The USA may have idiots in charge with a passion for war, but most countries on this planet see war as a last resort, not the go-to solution for everything, ...and I doubt they would want to have to commit their military and the lives of their troops in defense of a bellicose nation being an aggressor against a larger more powerful military force.

It's like being an already critically wounded cocker spaniel, yet being forced into battle with a well rested and hungry pitbull, all because your stupid yappy little teacup chihuahua can't keep it's trap shut.

If you care about america being safe then why in the f**k would you even consider Obama? Palin might not have the foreign policy experiance but McCain probably has more than anyone on Capitol Hill, she could easily learn....and quickly. I feel safe having someone like McCain to make sure he keeps up safe. Obama want to cut out military budget down to almost nothing. How's that keeping America safe?

We care because if McCain dies, we would like a President who is not as you say "could easily learn and quickly".  Her Moose hunting skills aren't going to help in the middle east if she has never traveled out of the country.

Upside - we will have a Vice President who is a much better shot than Dick Cheney.  Or did he shoot his friend only because he was drinking.  That's funny!

Don't say, "Who cares who is the VP?"  Of course, you have to care.  Where were you on September 11?

The reason McCain put Palin out on her own.... he couldn't handle that "Finger Nails on a Chalkboard" voice one more day.

But, that’s EXACTLY what you’ll have (A "could easily learn and quickly" president) if Obama wins, because he’s on top of the Dems' ticket. If experience were the be-all-to-end-all, Biden would be #1, or Clinton would be there.

No, Senator Obama HAS traveled out of the country.

He was a "rock star" when he went to Germany.

Was Mexico even on the list of places Palin traveled?  She said, "Canada... and what other countries?"
Palin in Mexico - now that would be fun to watch.  Do you think she would take off the glasses when she was drinking margaritas by the seashore?

Kennedy and Bill Clinton - how older were they compared to Senator Obama?  Who was the youngest of the three?

Biden was a great choice, but Biden doesn't have the charisma to inspire hope like Obama.  If you take the time to listen to Biden, he is brilliant and his ideas

I have the highest level of respect for John McCain; however they waited until he got too old.

He should have come to the Democratic party when his heart was leading him there.

This is not a game... Palin would be a cute cheerleader, but you don't have time to "get briefed" when you are President and two planes hit the world trade center.

Palin's husband is a babe.  He takes such good care of that baby.

FOREIGN nations visited:

In August 2005, Obama  traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya]

So let's see - discounting his campaign trips and meeting with World leaders of UK, Germany, Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan - he has been on official business talking war stuff with the Senate Foreign Relations committe to:

Israel
Kuwait
Iraq
Russia
Ukraine
South Africa
Kenya
Djibouti
Ethiopia
Chad
Jordan
Palestinian territories
Kuwait
Azerbaijan

And Palin once left the USA and visted 1 country.

Nice job.

Do you ever think of giving some time as an organizer for Obama?

Send them an application.

This election is going close again and we need all of the help we can get.  Think about it.

McCain / Pailin for 2008!

Everyone blames the Republicans, but obviously, our troubles began in the Democrats controlled both the Senate and House.  Lets get back to normal already!

I would not say that Biden is brilliant.  He looses his temper a lot and he has been on the wrong side of quite a few issues.  I will say that he has good experience and is polished....maybe too polished.
Remember, he was the one that wasted congresse's time and our $ on the steroids in baseball scandel...nice priorities.  He was also the first to be vocal about giving $1 billion dollars in aid to Georgia, which is $ we are borrowing from China to give to other countries.

I voted for Ron Paul so I am unhappy about both of the choices.  Obama is proponent of bigger gov, more regulation, more programs, more taxes & big spending.  McCain is probably a bit too old to be president.  Neither are exceptionally strong on economics...which is what we need right now...and someone who will slash spending!

The fact is that the gov has failed to address economic, immigration and energy issues.  It is the joint fault of the congress and the president's administration.
The democratic congress has made things worse in their two year majority.

How did George Bush blow through the biggest surplus in the history of the United States Clinton and Gore handed to him?

They were sleeping with oil, handed the biggest surplus... and the idiots have left us in a recession.

It feels like the .com bomb when you see the Dow at 300 when you wake up and then 500 at the end of the day.  The .com bomb was due somewhat to a correction because there was so much venture capital floating around.

This election cannot come soon enough - McCain or Obama it has to be better.  The world cannot wait to see who the next President can be and they cannot wait either.  Only Bush could be dumb enough to tick off France.

Bush didn't tax during the good times.  It spit in the eye of conventional wisdom.  you HAVE to tax in the good times, so you don't have to tax during a recession.

Bush didn't.  I got my $1000 check in (2002?) and those making $1 mill probably got 100k back lol... everyone was really happy.  but that surplus then disappeared.  We were borrowing 3 bil per week to spend in iraq, and not paying the bills - just borrowing more $ from china to fund it.

Very irresponsible tax policy - and our next leader will have to suffer for it.

You voted for Ron Paul.

You were disappointed he didn't win?

You weren't surprised right.  The independent vote is growing.  It would be great if one day there were three parties.

They asked Nader if he feels he is the reason Gore was not President.  He said he and Gore had many conversations and he blames Florida, the Supreme court.

That is what Gore said to his face, but Nader got 9% of the vote.  So deep down you know Gore to his face is nice but he wants to strangle him.

About the steroid baseball scandal - I hate it as much as you do...

Everything about baseball is good.  I mean the cubbies are doing so well so I am happy... but when my 11 year old son and I talk baseball I really want to be talking about Manny Ramirez's crazy average and my kid knows every Angels player and their average.   Not talking about Barry Bonds going to jail.

Yep, it's all Florida's fault. Shame on them for following its own law. The Dems kept filing lawsuits and kept trying to change the rules on what counts as an official ballot (with ALL of the recounting done in heavily Democratic counties, of course).

After 5 weeks (and despite MULTIPLE changes on the definition of an official ballot, i.e. the "chad"), George Bush was STILL ahead of Al Gore, as he initially was at the end of election night; he never lost his lead.

The only thing that the Supreme Court did was declare enough is enough. To use an NFL instant replay term, "The ruling on the field (election night) STANDS!!" Bush won Florida and all of its 25 EC votes, putting his total to 272....GAME OVER!!!!

Yeah the NFL thing it "STANDS" ... what is going on with the Denver and San Diego game.  I watched that whole game and I couldn't believe it!

So, then the UMP is on the news the next day and says he made a bad call.  But we have instant replay.

The Gore, Florida, thing... any chance that could happen again.  Not in Florida but you bet somewhere else.

My family is from Chicago... trust me jerrymandering (spelling), fixing elections... it happens in this country too.

Obama is a wizz kid at it - when he was in Chi-town he played the game and learned it well... not cheating but just playing hard ball.  We are in for one fun ride!

Honestly, don't waste your breath arguing with me.  I truly have no idea what I am talking about.

Just vote for Obama okay - he does.  www.voteforchange.com

One of the reasons is the war.  Major amounts of $ spent in Iraq which is bankrupting us.  The other is too much spending across the board.  Bush is not an economic conservative.
