How fast is this guy going! holy cow

Check out this car pass, looks like it is going 200 mph, insane speed.  What kind of car?  Some think its a 944 porsche, or a viper, doesn't look too exotic if you pause it when car passes.  Would be crazy to go this fast!

The guy filming is going about 95 MPH.  I'd say the car that passed him is going about 170 - 180 MPH.  The car has a corvette or viper looking front end, but the rear-end doesn't match either car.

I'm currently living in Germany and I have a Porsche 944 turbo with a performance chip.  I was once passed whilst I was doing about 155 MPH.  The car that passed me was a previous generation BMW M5.

cool stuff man, thx for contributing to thread, I haven't seen you around the forums, but nice to have you here.  How fast do you usually go in the 944?  that is insane, how fast do you think the BMW was going that past you?

Yeah it looks insanely fast that guy is going.

just think of straddling that power between your legs...

actually I look at first video of hyabusa, looks nothing like 220 mph as stuff goes by actually looks more like 60 mph, compared to other videos?  He does willey up to 150 mph seems weird.

i know what you mean, i had a 2001 hayabusa with the 220mph gauges and they are very optimistic. I got a speedohealer that corrected the speedometer and at best the bike would only do 190mph in good wind which is still very fast, buy the time i sold it it would go faster than 220mph.

after i posted those videos i had to go ride my motorcycle ;D

My brothers brother in law was a paramedic in Germany and he was attending to someone on the Autobahn and was hit by a Pantera they said was going at least 150.  I met him at my brothers wedding.  His whole face was plastic and had numerous others things wrong but he was so cool.  My kids really like him.  He only had one eye too.  I have driving on the Autobahn on my "Bucket List"

I've been around for quite a while.  I'm just not a frequent poster.  There's no doubt that traffic moves faster in Germany.  In my 944, I don't feel like I'm going fast until I get to about 120 MPH.  Don't be overly impressed by that.  I get passed by station wagons at that speed.  I also own a Peugeot 206.  That's kind of like a French version of a Pinto.  I routinely drive it just over 100 MPH.

I'd estimate that the M5 that passed me was doing over 170.  There is a stretch of autobahn just outside of Frankfurt that's four lanes wide, flat, straight and has no speed limit.  Keep in mind that only about 45% of the autobahn is unrestricted, and it comes in relatively short distances for the most part.

I work with a guy who has a Porsche 993 Turbo-S.  He has driven at over 190 MPH!

Surprisingly, accidents are fairly rare on the autobahns.  They are truly a mess when the do happen.  My realtor's father was in an accident recently.  He was going about 120 MPH in the left lane and a car pulled out in front of him.  The driver of the car that pulled out was killed, and my realtor's father was banged up pretty bad.  I completed the purchase of my house so I haven't been in contact with them, but I suspect the father is going to be in deep trouble even though it was an unrestricted area.

Driving on the autobahns in Germany is definitely a cool experience.  It's hard for many of stateside friends and family to believe that I've driven over 160 MPH.

Last week I was in Naples, Italy (I'm associated with the military) and that was some of the worst driving conditions I've ever seen.   I'd driven there before so I knew the deal going in.  When I rented the car, I got what they call "super coverage."  It means that if the car gets damaged, totalled or stolen I didn't have to pay a dime.  That coverage gave me a sense of "you wanna play rough" when I drove!

There is no where i have been that the driving is crazier than Hong Kong (Kowloon).  I rented a car and took it back after less than a day.  I was afraid I was going to have to buy a new car.  Those people over there are crazy.  I ended up taking cabs everywhere and have a video I took while in the back of the cab to show how crazy they drive.  I swear they drive inches from each other and I didn't see any wrecks.  We think the they drive shitty here in the states but they actually know how to drive it's just that over here we aren't used to the way they drive.

I have a rough time believing the speedo in the video...he is haulin' ass but over 200 mph??? Maybe he is who knows...haulin' the mail either way..wow.

I have always heard the speedos on bikes are not that accurate at high speeds...definitely not a huge amount off but off a little anyway...Does messing with the gearing on a bike screw it up ? Of coarse it will on a car but that's cause speedo cable is on the trans.

the speedo is wrong, all hayabusa speedo's are wrong when you go past a 100mph. I corrected mine with a speedohealer.

When I was 11 years old they used to have a cart race that went through the streets of El Segundo, CA (industrial area).  They had hay bails on the corners and everything.  I raced that year in my lay-down (what we called them back then cause you are literally laying on your back with your head propped up) and it had twin MAC 101 motors.  Had disc brakes all round and no body.  Some of the others had full bodies.  My dad bought me the cart and McCullough (?) gave me the twin motors cause my mom had an inside track to the President of the company at that time.  My cart could go 100mph.  First prize was a brand new Honda 50 mini bike.  I got a DNF but lasted quite awhile.  That cart was very very fast.  Also, one year in Palm Springs a guy in a cart was being chased by the cops.  This guy was toying with the cops.  His cart was so fast and could do a U-turn no problem. He was running circles around the cops.  Never knew if he got caught though

They guy probably isn't going 200 MPH,  for one everything is KPH, and another, it ain't a Corvette, Viper, and it surly isn't a 944 ( It's too modern). From what I see, in slowing it down, I thought it was a C5 vette, but,  the rear lights are one peice instead of two ovals (or it could be blurred) and Another, the car has  Euro license plates. Chances are it was probalby some Euro car.
