Once Dorian retired, I had a chance to get to know the real person. I stayed at his home in England, and we did several guest appearances together. I realized that he was not a punk rocker but an intelligent and caring person.

As great as Dorian was he never was able to get the separation and detail in his arms, delts, and pecs that he could get in his back.

He always looked unfinished from the front.

I'm a big Dorian fan but Ronnie simply is in another league compared to everyone else.

I also noticed Mike Mentzer, who trained in a similar style as Yates also had that lack of detail in pecs and arms as well. Perhaps the low volume- high intensity training causes that. Arnold always said Mentzer needed to do more sets if he wanted to etch in more quality and detail. Mentzer said that Arnold was wrong and that exercises don't add separation to muscle, only diet does. I'm starting to think higher volume training does give more muscular detail. Thoughts?
