Protein Cookies
« on: September 18, 2008, 02:30:28 PM »
My gym sells this stuff.  How does it taste?  Any good?  Any good for you?  Every protein bar I have tried makes me wanna barf (including the Snickers protein bars).  I need something that tastes good.  :P

Anyone like these or eat them regularly?

The only ones that taste decent  IMO are the double chocolate
and they need to be fresh.

the Met-Rx Colossal 100 Brownie is probably one the best tasting "protein desserts" Ive had.  They are meant to be microwaved and they come out super soft and warm....however they are absolutely horrible for you.  I believe about 420 cals...16 g fat...45 grams carbs

I tried a Tri-O-Plex cookie a few months back. I don’t remember the flavor, but it was pretty decent – and I am not a fan of protein bars AT ALL.

The best tasting cookie I ever tried was the toffee chip made by Bakery Barn. Sadly, they discontinued that flavor and the others had too much of an “artificial sweetener” taste.

They taste pretty good.  I like the choc chip and the white choc macadamia.  Don't be fooled into thinking that they are good for you though. ;)

The funny thing is that an ifbb pro might eat that chef jay protein cookie, but only because it was free, and he'd eat a box of oreo's afterwards.  ;D

How do you know this?

There was a huge thread about this on the bodybuilding.com nutrition section years ago.  The bars had way more sugar per serving than they were listing on the packaging.  The numbers were different on all the bars.  The protein content was fairly accurate though.

Yah, but in a pinch, these beat some alternatives.

I'll agree, that's with the bars.  The cookies aren't like that tho.  They're more like a basic homemade soft cookie.

Actually, that's per package. There's 2 cookies per package. Sometimes the labeling is a little mis-leading depending on what source you're looking at.
