Alan is no moderate.  I repect him for giving a different perspective on the show but sometimes his attitude is harsh.

...
He would disagree with you:

And though Fox News markets Colmes as "a hard-hitting liberal known for his electric commentary" (FoxNews.com), it doesn't even get much help from Colmes himself. "I think I'm quite moderate," Colmes blandly told USA Today (2/1/95), not long before being hired as the show's left-wing counterweight to Hannity.

"I voted for Giuliani"

"I defended Trent Lott"

Colmes does ask some obvious, yet awkward Qs.  He'll pwn the shit out of some guests who just got thru with 6 minutes of handjobbing from Hannity.

I can only judge from hearing him on the show.  Perhaps he is truely a moderate but takes the liberal counterperspective because Hannity is overwhelmingly conservative & republican.

I hear you HH6.  Federal experience is a double edged sword sometimes.

Dude is a moderate anyway. Nothing at all balanced about that

no - but joe said it was over, and i wanted to illustrate palin's slide over the last week as evidence that it's not over.

Neither side should claim victory on this one until after the election.  I've seen it on getbig after rev wright, after hilary snub, after palin bump... "it's over for obama now!  He won't recover".

Time after time, they declare it over, and it's not over.

Mccain is gonna win this election if it's close at all.

I'm not so sure.  This is definitely going to come down to the wire.

They oughta hire Matthews for that spot. Colmes is horrible, nice guy i'm sure, but horrible. They need a fired up Dem, not some mousey Lib.

But that's the whole point of the set-up--have the Conservative viewpoint personified in the person of a cocky, arrogant prick like Vanity, and have the Liberal viewpoint put forth by a milquetoast.

repubs are really really good at manipulating situations when its close.

FL supreme court - via repub Katherine Harris - decided the 2000 election.
NO Ohio recount decided the 2004 election.

Repubs are very good at getting people in key places to decide things in close races.

thanks for this post.

you can see this mentality in some people in this thread & around the board :-\

3 year ago, I would have been shouting her greatness from the rooftops.

You ignore common sense and simple facts.  I'd be rationalizing it by saying "But, her lack of experience is a GOOD thing - she'll be fresh!" or some bullshit like that.

Palin isn't prepared to fix economy or fix foreign relations.  Her only "energy" qualification was selling out to an oil company where hubby worked and starting a pipeline we're still waiting on.

The good thing is that majority of dumb people who said "she's hot - she's got my vote" have learned enough about her to change their mind this week.  She's just a negative, unqualified person.
