yeah, i'm doing better than I have in my life, but i'm working harder too.

A few family and freiends are out of work.  There's always work, but people who are used to just showing up at a job and getting a check are at risk.  People who go out and kick ass on their own, see a lot of opportunities in tough times.

If you put more than 100k in any account, you are a jackass. Don't see why anyone should be concerned with less than that amout because IT'S INSURED.  ::)

That means nothing if the paper money is worthless.

You mean like government workers?

Think any of them will get laid off?

Whichever man gets into office will have some sweeping govt job cuts.

They can't admit it now, or govt voters will vote against them to keep work.  Hell, I'd vote for that unprepared nutjob palin tomorrow if Obama promised to fire me lol...

Neither admits it now, but both will do so, for the very least so the economy doesn't cash on their watch, and leave them that legacy.

If I were in charge, that *would* be my campaign platform...and the key would be to get everyone else in the U.S. to see how those lazy, overpaid government workers are a burden on the system.  50% reduction in the federal workforce over 10 years...that's the 'New Deal' we need asap.

the moment either guy says "yeah, we have to cut 10% of govt spending", you'll have the other side running nonstop ads about it.  Every mailman and DMV worker in the nation will change votes.  they always deny specific spending cuts

we bailed out the SLs and it was more $ back then (in today's dollars).

We'll be fine.  China did their public bitching about it.  Long as nobody bombs iran, and china doesn't drop dollar, we're fine.

Conspiracy theory is a poor term given to those who seek TRUTH through all of the lies.  If you haven't researched the history of governments and don't read up on world events, you don't really have much of a clue.  If you choose to be apathetic, great!  Just be prepared to pay a very heavy price.  YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE NOT FOR WHAT YOU KNOW, BUT FOR WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW.

China just got a huge contract to develop an oil field in Iraq.

American soldiers are dying, and we're making sure the Chinese get their cut.

Hmm...what percentage of the foot soldiers in Bush's was are Chinese?

Getting concerned over little amounts and pulling makes things 10x worse.

If you actually believe the FDIC has enough money to bail out people you're a jackass.  The government just had to make an emergency injection of cash into the FDIC.  It's been operating at below capacity for a while now.  Don't rely on the FDIC to bail out the billions and billions of dollars sitting in banks.

And when Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. implement the Amero gold will come crashing down.  There is NO safe investment right now except paying off your debt, investing in a food storage system, buying land if you have that kind of money, and investing in guns and ammo.  Everything else is pointless right now and will be for a good while.  Until the smoke clears I wouldn't recommend anyone invest in anything.  There are as many gold charlatans out there as anyone.

P.S. if you have the ability to stockpile gasoline and oil you will be that much ahead of the game when the shit hits the fan in the next 6 months.

You're right about gas, oil, food, and land (and the necessity of guns to protect what it rightfully yours), but why would anyone pay off debt right now and deplete their cash reserves (even if that cash might be worthless a year from now lol)?

Gold is still very good, but ONLY if you have it in hand.  Screw a broker.

The Mormons are ready on the food storage front.  I highly suggest that everyone else join the program, too.

Yeah I'm working on mine right now.  Thankfully I found this place........www.mredepo t.com

They have ANYTHING you could need.  Canned bacon?  LOL.  Moutain House also has some very good freeze dried food products in a #10 can.  I bought several cases of Military MRE's and they are VERY tasty!

My stepmother worked at Fannie Mae for 16 years before she was basically ushered out at age 50. She was a senior VP and was politely let go in favor of someone younger and willing to work for a lower salary. However, they offered her a sweet severance package of a full year's salary upfront with additional stock options to retire early.

I mildly suggested at the time that she should cash out the Fannie stocks and reinvest them in long term tech stocks like IBM, Apple, and Goggle. This was 1.5 years ago. I work for a prime mortgage broker(nothing like a sub-prime shit lender that started all of this) and I saw the writing on the wall with Fannie long ago.

Think she should have listened? Her stocks aren't worth dick now since the government takeover. I think Fannie is worth $4 a share now.
