This is such a non-issue is almost laughable....
The ONLY issue at hand is whether or not he qualified by way of competing at a Olympia qualifying show, or not.
He didn't.
End of story.
If Hide was competing in the Houston Pro 202, and was leading (or in the top 5) going into round 3....and he fell off the stage into the orchestra pit, breaking his leg....THEN I believe a "special invitation" would be justified.
XCuse moi...Monsieur Bob (as International athlete rep)...
SPECIAL INVITATION is exactly that - SPECIAL INVITATION...by a promoter who believes that athlete invited WILL be competitive enough or fans would love to see him compete or whatever reason...or...ELSE...(maybe MAKING THE SHOW BETTER???)
Just ask Gunter who didn't get just ONE...or TWO special invitations for the Olympia even though he had a chance to qualify by entering and placing in some qualifying shows...
He got THREE special invitations - and guess what - third time 2002 - he could/should/would/did....etc...etc... more than earn his SPECIAL INVITATION by shocking everyone and almost winning the show...(if judges had OPEN MIND o should I say - open eyes - during the prejudging just like they had during the finals - and they recognized Gunter smoking just about everyone in just about every pose (in just about every aspect that should be considered in judging)...we would have had THE BIGGEST shocker in the history of Mr. Olympia...
Couple of weeks later Gunter managed to beat Ronnie at the GNC show - but that was much different than winning the Olympia...
Anyway - how did Gunter deserve not 1 or 2...but THREE special invitations?
Oh...we didn't have athletes rep back than...?
Hmmm...
Bob, it is laughable how "politically correct" you always seem to be...
"

Why would he need to qualify by way of competing at a Olympia qualifying show?
He is NOT asking for Olympia invitation....
He is asking (actually he is NOT asking - I am insisting - and not because he is my friend - but BECAUSE IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO - for the fans, for the athletes, for the IFBB, for Asian bodybuilding...for BODYBUILDING...for SPORT...for camaraderie...for FAIRNESS...and for the Independence Day!!!...Why this last one? Well, I don't know exactly - but it sure sounds good...so let's say for the overall effect!)
I am NOT the enemy...as most of the people in the IFBB consider me to be...I claim that each and every action I was/am/will be making was ALWAYS and ONLY for the Federations and especially ATHLETES benefits - and never the opposite...
PS: Idea of falling of the stage during the posing routine is quite interesting...How did you come up with that one?
