How the rest of the world views USA
« on: September 21, 2008, 05:33:03 AM »
Here is a paste of a post by ragingbull on the general board :

Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the Right hand over the heart.

'As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides,' Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.'

WHAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this could possibly be our next president. I, for once, am speechless.
He better take sides..........if he is not on the side of AMERICA he MUST NOT EVEN BE CONSIDERED for the office he is seeking. We do not need a man in office that will not salute the flag. The world knows how to sing, what they need to know is that the USA will defend what that flag stands for.

Defend what that flag stand for ? What is that then ?

I have to laugh at the American population who rant on about it being the "Land of the Free" .   No it is actually the land where 0.1% make a fortune and do what they want (including invading other countries to control their oil) and the other 99.9% get brutally controlled with no health care, social housing etc and are forced like Hitler's nazi soldiers to stand with their hand on their heart when a bit of music is played.

WAKE UP BOZOS !!!!   You are all being used and manipulated.  USA is not the land of the free, it is the land of the simple brainwashed folk who are manipulated into thinking they are in a great country and the rest of the world is jelous. I can assure you the rest of the world IS NOT !!!!  Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, iceland, Australia, New Zeland, Japan and even now Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia, etc etc are much more free than the USA. And we all have medical care, prescriptions, housing, education etc for all. Not just those who can afford it.

The 99.9% of you all sit there in your trailers and little wooden homes with your mullets and stars and stripes and the rest of the world laughs at you. Meanwhile the 0.1% who control your country get richer and richer and have now nationalised the toxic debts collected by the financial organisations which earned the 0.1% billions of dollars over the past few years. And all the black folk in New Orleans still live in squaller 3 years after the Hurricane. Even 3rd world countries would have cleared up by now.

WAKE UP BOZOS !!!!!!!  Most of you are being taken for a ride. The ruling 0.1% (which has been in place since 1776 and was mostly selected by British Masons) controls your minds like you wouldn't believe. 75% of people in Scotland have assets of more than $400,000 by the time they reach 65 years old. And full medical care. And pensions of at least $45,000. And free prescriptions. When I visit the USA I cannot believe how many old folk still work. People in other parts of the world don't work much past 60 but at Disney there are hundreds of old girls even older than me working because they can't afford to retire. I myself am not exactly rich but have a house valued at over $1 million, drive 2 mercedes, have a pension of $90,000 per year ($15,000 from the state) and make $1200 per day 4 days per month as a non executive director of 4 companies.

WAKE UP BOZOS !!!!

Does anyone want to contradict any of the points I have just made ??

I don't know about that. I think the following cover page says it all:

I don't know about that. I think the following cover page says it all:

That was 4 years ago that we were shocked at Yankee ignorance, ...now many of us are crying for them.

Guys like Coach and a few others who are living in a mind-altered trance are in for the rudest of awakenings.

If their "God" is a merciful one, they'll be lucky, ...they'll still be entranced by their "leaders" and will be able to blame it on the "Godless Liberals". Or, ...they just might have their eyes opened and realized how much they screwed themselves. Their real enemies were domestic afterall, ...and they were the foxes to whom they gladly handed over the keys to the henhouse, and sacrificed their sons & daughters to.

...and when the dust settles, ...Bush will be safely ensconced in paraguay, ...a country that does not extradite for crimes committed during political office.

Many around the world flood our borders every year, dying to live here.  We must be doing something right.

Same can be said for all western countries, you just happen to have a shithole called Mexico over the border. How many people from the countries listed in my topic thread are flooding your borders ?

Jimmy I haven't looked at the numbers, but I doubt all western countries have the volume of immigrants, legal and illegal, that we do.  I've heard the argument that some countries might have more per capita immigrants than the U.S., but one of the major distinctions is the sheer volume of people moving, and trying to move here.  We offer what no other country can on such a grand scale.

I don't know how many immigrants we get from "UK, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, iceland, Australia, New Zeland, Japan and even now Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia."  Do you have that information?

Regarding Canada (on your list), we apparently had 774,800 in 2004 and are project to have 920,000 by 2010.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_to_the_United_States

yes.  in pretty much every other wealthy country in the world, you have no right to bear arms, and gun ownership is very low(under 5%, in USA gun ownership nationwide is about 50%).  therefore, any so called freedom you enjoy in those countries is granted to you by the government, if they decided to take away all your freedoms there, what would you do? there's no way you could preserve your freedoms.
with that said, yeah the US government sucks, yeah americans are brainwashed(not that these are things unique to the US).  while some of your points are valid as far as economy goes, your assertion that the standard of living/quality of life is night and day when comparing the US to other first world countries is ridiculous. the differences are far from drastic.
the US, western Europe, Australia are all within the top 10% of countries as far as standard of living, trying to make the US out to be some miserable place to live where people are barely surviving and living in trailers is just stupid.

I believe its 99.8% of us. So I would say that I can refute that statement. But everything else you said is factually infallable and has perfect logic and statistics to back it up. Have you ever thought of running for public office?

If I was an american citizen I would run for office.  I am actually older than McCain and also ex military but the difference is I never surrendered to the enemy like McCain did. McCain is a coward and if he had been in my regiment of the Black Watch we would have beaten him to death when released from the POW camp where he lived a cowards life for so long. In Scotland our motto is No Surrender so he would have no chance of election over here.

The battle poem of the Black Watch by Rabbie Burns

Scots, who have with Wallace bled,
Scots, who Bruce has often led,
Welcome to your gory bed
Or to victory!

Now is the day, and now is the hour:
See the front of battle lour (impending),
See approach proud Edward's power -
Chains and slavery!

Who will be a traitor knave?
Who will fill a coward's grave?
Who so base as be a slave? -
Let him turn, and flea!

Who for Scotland's King and Law
Freedom's sword will strongly draw,
Freeman stand or freeman fall,
Let him follow me!

By oppression's woes and pains,
By your sons in servile chains,
We will drain our dearest veins
But they shall be free!

Lay the proud usurpers low!
Tyrants fall in every foe!
Liberty is in every blow!
Let us do or die!

 ;D

Black power. At least Palin understands the 2nd Amendment and it's trying to disarm us of nukes.
