in those old magazines, Robert Kennedy would say "go as heavy as you can, with perfect form and a full range of movement"

I think there is a few nuggets of i valuable info in this quote

Typical "personal trainer" preaching this shit.  Dont get me wrong, im NOT saying to throw the weight around but all the strict form crap is stupid.  Unless your goal is to look like this guy.  That said, I do think its important for a beginer to learn it so they dont kill themselves.

On pulling movements (rows, curls, chins) YES
On pressing movements (bench, military, skullcrushers, squats) NO

seriously why do gyms hire these guys?

are they less intimidating to the average fatass that hires a trainer?

the trainers at my gym prove that you can judge a book by its cover, they don't know what they're doing and it shows in their appearance

I try to, as long as it feels right.
Depends on what you're training for.

I think that it's important on everything except presses cause locking out uses a lot of tris taking tension off the desired muscle and it's really not easier because if you go just shy of lock out you got the hard part over with and you dont have that little rest that comes with locking out either. I think you should always go faily slow(unless doiung a 225 rep out :D) and always go down(hate those fags that bench 6 inches above their chest) all the way and get the full strech. But hey everybody is different and you should do what allows you to get then muscle working best and not what allows you to get the most weight up.

What you're saying is mostly true, but the point is: I didn't ask for your two cents.

Why wouldn't you use a full ROM?

When you get strong it will be dismissed "he only does half the movement". Also you increase the chance of injury using less than full ROM because you have to increase the load to compensate for the lack of movement.

OK CANDIZZLE....next your gonna tell me to isolate the inner triceps only movement using the bench press and then ask me how many times we bench press 275.8lbs.
