Apples and oranges friend...

Neither ESPN nor Sports Illustrated pay athletes for exclusivity, but yes that would suck.

PLEASE....

FRom a marketing standpoint, it made sense for a lot of people to win when they didn't....Robbie R, Lee Labrada, Shawn Ray, Kevin, Flex, Jay in 01....this is why it makes my laugh when the fools start chiming in about how it's "fixed"....LOL...if it's fixed...you don't let guys win 8 times in a row...NOTHING could be worse for marketing.

because they want the same guy to have multiple wins(unless its to obvious)...It helps keep the prestige in tact...Much easier and predictable for the branding of the event

If Jay shows up on it will go to him. Even more so since it seems like he'll retire. Wolf's time will come. As long as he stays healthy, tad more back and calves and keeps the waist. Only if Wolf brings something really crazy can he pry loose a sitting champ in top shape. Maybe if he sports a mustache along the level as Mentzer in his prime can he shake things up but that seems very unlikely. As gifted as he is even Wolf doesn't seem to have the genetics for that. A stache like that comes straight from the hand of God.

He's not retiring? Are you suggesting he will do the Olympia next year and onwards?

Bottom line, all reports and pics is that Jay Cutler looks much better than last year. Also, we know that Dennis Wolf is supposedly better than last year, which is why some of us have Dennis over Phil Heath and Dexter Jackson.

It will be a good contest on Friday night, but Thursday at 1pm is the Press Conference.

And that right there tells the story....You can pick Wolf for 2nd place but no higher because we all know he won't win regardless of what he (or Jay) look like.   It's like a consolation prize......"yes, we realize you are by far the best BBer onstage so we'll give you second, okay ?.......no, you can't be in first, you know Jay is in first, don't be silly."

I think he'll retire because I get the impression that the fire and passion is waning. He has nothing left to prove and is financially set. Also, being a professional bodybuilder is not an easy life. The diet (both bulking and cutting) alone can wear thin. And the constant daily training and being a human pin cushion can't be fun. Then there's the toll it takes on your body and health. It would be nice just to live a normal life where you can eat like a  normal person and just train for the enjoyment of it without all the pressure. I don't think Jay is like Ronnie where he likes walking around at 300lbs and throwing tons of weights around.

I see Jay just settling down raising a family and being a successful business man. He seem like a smart down to earth guy with the ability to keep things in perspective.

I think Jay has gone on record saying he would retire after this year...

The IFBB is a fucked up criminal organisation.
To call anyone related to it "Athletes" is a joke and bodybuilding is not a sport, its a beauty contest where gay men and women attend to see oiled up, oil filled, thong wearing, drug abusing, vomit inducing, egotistical vermin pose in a near death state of health.

How does it feel to know that without drugs you have the test production of a schoolgirl and thus you must inject yourself for the rest of your life to maintain that bloated mess off a physique which wasn't even enough to win 1 plastic trophy, apart from the one you got gifted at a "Masters" competition.
