On a substantive level, both candidates acquitted themselves well. In a political vacuum, this debate would seem like a tie. But as any fan of baseball knows, the tie goes to the runner.

Tell that to IFBB Judges  ;D

Quote
Beyond the mere question of expectations, Mr. Obama was far better at relating the debate to those issues that are of greatest concern to voters. His relentless message discipline was again on keen display.

On the economy I would agree with this. McCain had a great opportunity to finallly shoot down Obamas inexperience down and actually point blank ask him how giving the poorest people more welfare is going to stimulate the economy rather than giving tax breaks to bussinesses who will employ them and allow them to suceed. He didnt answer Obama thus failed on that part of the debate.

To me at least McCain showed that he is vastly more ready to lead on foreign policy and that Obama can remember facts well and regurgitate what his advisors have told him. He really just doesnt understand the world and our enemies and that is very dangerous. Obama like Palin needs more time on the national stage before he is ready.

I would call last night's debate even.  If there were to be a slight edge, I'd say it goes to McCain, but only because evident he got under Obama's skin.

They both faired well, I thought, last night.

totally agree. mccain performed better than i expected, but still acted like an ANGRY old man. i think obama was caught off guard by mccain's constant "no eye contact" attacks.

my honest opinion = mccain by a nose.

Hmm...interesting that you agree.

Actually, I can see the writing onthe wall.  Politicians of either party will say what they will to get into power.
Who ever gets into the oval office will still take 700 Billion from us taxpayers whether we like it or not.
We will still be in two wars, uninsured, undereducated, poverty stricken Americans.

How anyone can right this mess when congress and the senate talk, debate and take vacations in the middle of crisis is quite sad.
Remember, the Republicans were going to bring honor back to the white house after the Clinton years.
It makes you realize how insignificant a blow job really was.

Nonsense, and those polls of those undecided disagree with you as well.  ;)
Obama was smooth and unflappable...as always. The cranky old man never got under Obama's skin, despite his lies.

You always bring common sense into a thread. There are very few people that don't fit that mold. Both these candidates are full of shit and if anyone cared enough you could find out in a hurry that they are in someone else's back pocket.

Why don't you two have sex and then engage in a suicide pact, since you are both so disillusioned with American politicians?

I can't find a single poll yet that has McCain winning.  Most have obama with a decent lead.

Seeing as they're nearly tied in polls, it means that a lot of people who plan on voting for mccain, believe that obama won.

WWill be cool to see more polls emerge.  I missed the debate, looking for it now.

The poll they did on Fox, during Hannity and Colmes, had McCain winning the debate.

And if Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddows did a poll asking their listeners to text, who do you think would register with a larger margin? I'm so sick of analyses and explanations from the lobotomized!

I created a thread expressing just SOME of my differences with the democratic party, jackass. Did you bother to post in that thread on the ways in which you differ from your beloved repube party?  ::)

You've been sippin' the Bush Kool-Aid for 8 years and then have the gall to run your mouth here. Go choke on your own vomit.
