i cant understand why people give obama the upper hand in last night's debate..

Thought it was a poor debate, I thought McCain presented himself confidently and at times talked over Obama thus appearing the stronger, but he had nothing of any real substance to say, he also outright twisted Obama's voting record which isnt really on. Obama I wasnt impressed too much by either, he lacked any strength and conviction in delivery of his points and i dont feel like either gave a uitable answer to the financial crisis despite there being almost 35 mins spent on it...
then again i suppose if you rely on TV for your politics then all you'll get is actors, so I aint gna complain, its a stage act...I'd just hoped that with all this talk of change and the end of same old washington we might all actually SEE something different, sadly no

Becasue several things McCain said as usual have turned out to be LIES.  Obama talked FACTS, he expalined what he would do, where  McCain liked to refer to slogans and his "maverick" style...

I keep hearing this war stories bs. He was talking about his actual experience in dealing with the issues they were talking about. Many as recent as a few weeks ago. You cant tell "stories" about what you havent done. That is why Obama was broke when it came to that point in the debate.

GOOD POINT....BUT, you are being to harsh in criticsm over answers....You cant really answer precisizely on what to do to fix the economy. I thought McCains explanation of what he is going to do "consult every dep and find a reasonable way" and his tax policy are more effective that Obama's "Cut funding, tax more, hurt corporations, hurt invesments, spend on lucrative invesments" and "we must sit down a find a way to help the economy"

That was McCain's problem.  He came in way too strong at the debate, talked over him, and pretty much came out attacking.  By doing so, he sounded fustrated and much like an old man swinging his cane at kids to get out of his yard.  Obama simply parried the attack and kept popping him on the head with words such as "judgement" and President Bush.  

McCain would have faired better if he was more professional and didn't use the same GOP retoric such as naive and liberal.  Instead it was nothing more than a 45 minute Republican Ad.  

Obama was Harvard Law Professor...he's definitely not going to slip up easily and the experience question is pretty much worn down

  Obama just basically make's McCain look bad. Obama acts all cool and collected like nothing ruffles his feathers. He is very composed and cool. This made McCain look a little hbit meaner and wierd but that is Obama's plan from the start. No MOH and a ton of disiplinary report.  McCain got into a lot of trouble before and after being a POW.  He's has a good military record but for being a POW, its kind of disappointing.  It only took 4 days for for the Viet-Kong to make him confess his crimes of being an American.
