In that era you didn't have to have anything, just avoid too much fat. The standards were non-existent. He was completely mediocre physically, Brad Pitt's HUGE in comparison. Women weren't attracted or distracted by the bod IMO. Reminds me of the anemic physiques of 1970s rockers.

Depends on which version of Brad we're talking about, but the women were perfectly fine with the physique he displayed with his big break role in Thelma and Louise so let's put that side by side with Newman's
