Dexter and Joe McNeil Go Seperate Ways After Win
« on: September 29, 2008, 06:00:14 PM »
Dexter said on PBW that he and McNeil are splitting up.  That cannot help his chances to win again.  Why would they split up now?  What does McNeil have that's bigger than winning Mr O's?

Joe's always been a surprisingly reluctant guru.

Hopefully they left on good terms, I would think so anyway. I have had people leave me and go to other trainers and end up coming back. There is nothing wrong with that or trying to go it on your own for a while. By now I would think that Dexter has the plan down pat. Joe is very good at getting guys lean. He does seem to at times, have  trouble peaking guys for the day of the show. This is not a slam against Joe, just the way I see it.

In order for Dexter to hold on to the Olympia title he is going to have to put on another 5 to 7 pounds. This is good amount for a guy like him and he also has to return to that shredded conditioning that he has brought in before that set him apart from the other guys. Combine these two things together and he will retain that title next year.

He made it to the top...now he's dumping his trainer so he doesn't have to pay him anymore.  Classy dude.

Dexter didn't "dump" anyone...Joe and Dex decided BEFORE the show, that this would be Joe's last prep, as he wants to devote his time to other business ventures....they remain good friends.

Thanks for shedding light.  Joe's timing is not good then...just when some money is being generated.

Are you kidding?  The guy has won the Arnold 3 times and is always one of the top guys at the Olympia.  Dude has been making 6 figures for many years now.

That is correct, however Joe was actually the one who made the decision a few weeks back.

Yea, Joe's been in the game for almost 2 decades so I'm not surprised.
