Why do you assume everyone asks for handouts??? You dont think some people work their ass off too and never catch a break?  I never asked for handouts. I'm in that same Tax Bracket you are in. I had my ups and downs in my 20's, working 16 hour days 7 days a week and still thinkin their was no light at the end of the tunnel. I own 2 businesses, and worked my ASS OFF to get where I am. There are MANY people out here who NEED HELP.  I don't pay many taxes because I reinvest a ton of money into my businesses.  I hire more people, one of my employees is a single mother and works her ass off for me, and she still waitresses on weekends, asks for no hand outs, and  one of her daughters is a Sr in High school, I am planning on paying for her college tuition. Why?  Because I CAN AFFORD IT, it sint going to set me back 1 step but it will change her life in a DRAMATIC way. Helping someone that is in need is something Jesus would do RIGHT Mr Christian??? WOW, yet another religuous nut that is more worried about his MONEY than peoples well being, and you call yourself a Christian?? BLAHHHHHH you are a fraud.... Dude, I think it's AWESOME that you personally get involved in helping out those less fortunate. You're an example of what is possible in America when you put your nose to the grindstone and work hard.

That said, there is a difference between people helping out their fellow man through local charities and acts of compassion vs. having the government doing it for us. People now a days do not trust their government to use the money they take from us to do the right thing.

1. What the government should do/pay for. 2. The system/distibution

IMO No. 2 is the bigger problem. You can't have a reasonable debate if the system is flawed. This whole thing keeps going in circles.

In MY opinion Gov SHOULD, educate its people and make sure their HEALTH is taken care of... Peoples Education and Health shouldnt have a price tag / Profit hung over it...
